I'd like to remotely connect to my workstation on the home network from a laptop, what would be the best way?

The home network is behind a router, it has a windows 2003 active directory domain server for the users. Workstation is W7 Pro.

When connecting id like to access the current session rather than start a new one.

I would like to know also. Is it legal and would it work to say, use Teamviewer to allow a son to access your DVD archive from a different address.
How is this achieved please.

A VPN pass through may be ideal for this situation by the sounds of it. Then just RDC/UNC to the workstation or files you want.

I have used so many software for Remote access. Teamviewer is the best I have seen. It's easy, free and doesn't need a lot of effort. I use it to access my home desktop time to time. No issue with firewall at all +1.

+1 for team viewer one of the 1st apps i install on any machine i use.

Another alternate would be log me in but team viewer seems to get the nod with most people these days
