ok i have my main rig and at present i use a robocopy script to my backup drive, which i then will plug in my laptop and media pc and again running a script to mirror the backup drives data, keeping all new tv shows and films synced. i understand this is a bit old and odd.. lol

so what is the best way to do this? i presume robocopy will work over the network? so i guess i can play with that, but interested to know what others use

use robocopy

Share the folders and then map them..

Ie, X: would be \\server\sharename

so you can
robocopy /e "C:\source" "x:\destination"

I've found synctoy which is free from microsoft to be surprisingly good.

I have it wrapped in a windows script launched from a Task scheduler. At 6am the script wakes the PC, finds the server and android devices connected by USB, syncs all three devices and goes to sleep.

Another vote for dropbox. Unless you've got lots of large files which might suck up lots of bandwidth.

Dropbox is available for ios/android so files are accessible anywhere.
