I want to rule out my psu as being the cause of the intermittent crashing I've been experiencing. (Usually happens while a game is running. The game image freezes and becomes unresponsive but I can usually alt+tab, or bring up the task manager or restart windows through the start menu. I have a thread up already which goes into more detail: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=29431447#post29431447

I've tried OCCT's PSU test but only for a few seconds because I'm worried about causing damage to components.

I know its a silly statement but if you are really wanting to test if its your PSU can you not borrow one from a friend? or buy a second hand one, then sell it again for the same money if it turns out your PSU is fine.

I imagine you'll need suitable equipments to test the voltage variation under load if you really want to. So I'd suggest sending it off to a retailer to have it checked might be your only way out (unless you have those equipments sitting around).
