best web browser?

Firefox with the essential addons. Quicker than IE and the ability to view web pages without adverts is great. In my experience Chrome is faster than Firefox but I haven't been able to customize it to my liking yet, but there is an adblock out there for Chrome IIRC.

Thank you for that.

I understand from a web developer point of view that there are advantages. However, I'm not a web developer so those advantages are no good to me and the same also probably goes for the people that are asking which browser should I be using. With regards to the speed and reliability, I guess that's dependent on your experiences. I personally haven't found a browser that is head and shoulders above all the other browsers in terms of speed and reliability, in my experience, they all seem to be roughly the same.

Not directly they're not, no. But with web pages increasingly turning into web applications, the speed and standards support of the dominant browsers could have a big effect on the kind of websites you'll be browsing over the next few years! This is perhaps a shaky reason for moving from IE, but I'd want to be on the right side of that divide.

I just don't understand IE. Microsoft makes really good operating systems and a really good office suite, so surely it has the resources to make a really good browser? I kinda hope that IE's tumbling market share might be the kick up the backside that MS needs.
