Best Windscreen Wipers

Good point. But do the cheapo ones squeal like stuck pigs? That's my main concern after ordering those cheapo ones a few posts above. Hopefully they don't!

Well I've never had such a problem and I don't like odd noises inside or outside of my car :p

RainX doesn't last very long, I bought it once and never bought it again as it didn't last long at all.

RainX is fine, you just need a few layers I found, kinda like wax needs a few layers.

Yet to find good wipers. Had bosch, got Valeos now and they streak like mad and the aero wipers just wobble all over the screen, I'm counting down the days for when they fly off on a motorway...

Seriously, get some Halfords own. They were great on my VXR and have been great on my ST - the only wiper I've had last more than 6 months before noticing them degrade.

Ah a bit of rain and it brings out all these issues!

How do you tell if your blades are still good? And do products like Rain-X / windscreen sealant work? Water does seem to stick to my windscreen when it should run off..

I noticed my driver side wiper is jittering on the way down leaving several lines of water in my view (its fine on the way up.. arg!).

When the white bolded bit happens it's no longer good :p

Maybe they're on upside down?
Take out the plastic thing in the middle and loop it through the other side.

I had to do that with mine, but then I bought in them off a UK site for LHD use..

Dont rate Bosch AreoTwins, got a set for the girlfriends corsa and they are fine, but the set I put on my Fiesta are crap, they squeak, judder and streak badly.
Got a set of Tesco Blades on my Civic now, and they are a bit better but juttery too :(

I got a pair of wiperblades.co.uk's own universal retrofit flat blades - they were cheap and do the job well. The only issue is the fitting mechanism - in the second pic you can see the clasp is a bit loose
(not clipped all the way in near the hook), initially after some wipes it would work it's way up, like in the pic, but now it doesn't anymore (I may have just got it clipped at the right tension, suspect if I lift the blades up, I would need to fiddle with it and clip it in securely again) but nonetheless that is the only issue with them I have found and I am anal when it comes to wipers.

Can you not take the clip out and reverse it?

Those blades you bought Oxide are of exactly the same design as the ones I just bought, except mine have the Jaguar spray bars and came with some extra water pipes. They just clipped straight on, the easiest blades I have ever fitted I'd say. Mine weren't that cheap though tbh, £24.

I also have the wiperblades.co.uk's own flat blade, i put them on and have had them for a good 9 months, not a single streak at all ! very very impressed with them. Plus they look a little nicer than bog standard wipers imo. I was so impressed that i bought a pair for my mums car and my dads. But theirs did have a couple of streaks.
Mine are brilliant, cant rate them enough !

I usually find the OEM wipers from the dealer are usually the best and not as expensive as you'd think. Halfords are pretty expensive for blades and I bet it's Valeo/Champion or simialr in their own brand boxes.
