Having numerous issues with the Virgin Hub 5 - mainly WiFi range is rubbish and connectivity issues - probably due to range.

Seen the Asus RT-BE58U which looks OK for the money. Can anyone suggest anything else I should look at.

GL-iNet Flint 2. I replaced my Asus RT-AX86U with one and got much better wifi range.

You'll find Asus is not a favoured brand here.

You’ll have to keep the virgin router and stick it in modem mode but the Flints are good. Ubiquiti are very good.

Avoid ASUS like the plague.

I'm aware of using the hub as a modem, that's not an issue.
I'm a little out of touch so was looking at TP-Link and Netgear originally. Reddit suggested Asus were really good at WiFi range.
Never heard of GL-iNet - will take a look.

G flint 3 is currently £163.99 lack of Mesh functionality put me off G flint , went with tp link instead

Before that I had the Asus AX88U for around 6-7 years never had any issues with it never missed a beat but wanted mesh and tp link has a lot of options for that
