Best WW2 FPS game out?

Brothers in Arms - Hells Highway is good n cheap too :)

just found it for under a fiver too :D

Go for the original, or Hell's Highway tbh.

Actually, depending on how much you like graphics, go Hell's Highway, then the original Road to Hill 30, then Earned in Blood.

Personally I think Hell's Highway went a bit too arcade for me. Still good though, and some better DAMN moments.

Call of Duty + Exp

Medal of Honor AA + Exps

Call of Duty 2

COD World at War was poor I thought, only good bit was the over dramatic russian bloke.

two words: Nazi Zombies.

It's hours of fun as a standalone game if you can get your mates to play you.

Don't forget Red Orchestra, still an awesome game if you like the slower tactical approach. Got the urge to play it the other day and still a got a fair few servers going, even Darkest Hour (western front mod) has 2 or 3 40-50slot servers full during the afternoon.

Really does depend on what sort of WW2 fps you are after.

Arcade Style - go for CoD 2, or even the original CoD. Can't believe some people are saying WaW is better than either of these! CoD2 is hands down better than WaW just in terms of level design alone (the d-day cliff scaling level for instance).

Sim - Go for Battleground Europe aka WW2 Online. This is an MMOFPS though with a monthly sub fee. Awesome game but about as hardcore as an FPS gets (You can go for hours and never see an enemy).

Mixture - Go for Band of Brothers: Hell's Highway. I will echo what other posters have said on this one. It's was a seriously underrated game when it came out (just before WaW). It's far from perfect but the good levels are incredible and the best I've experienced in a WW2 game. On the authentic mode (no HUD) it's pure perfection at times.

RTS: Without any doubt, Company of Heroes and the Opposing Fronts expansion (forget Tales of Valor). The best RTS out there.

Day of Defeat is like CS Team death match it is quite good though. (at least it used to be)

Red Orchestra - very good but can be a real mind **** you hardly know where you got shot from, you can spend 10 minutes hiding in a hole too scared to move.
Its either extremely good fun or the most frustrating thing i have ever played.

Both games are very cheap now i should imagine.

DoD is amazingly dated when you play it now. However, I agree it's still really good. DoD Source is better but even that seems aged (a 2005 game essentially). It's probably closer to the arcade category I'd say.

RO is very hit and miss I totally agree. I was once in a clan for this game and have fond memories of it. If you're into tank combat then it's worth checking out. The infantry combat is only good on certain maps, such as Stalingrad Kessel.

CoD 2 hands down for me. Its probably the best Call of Duty game too.

Think i might actually install this again, cracking game and as menioned above, level design on this venture is immense. game play is awsome and i know its a historical story but the story line and the way its played out is just perfect.
