Think the last one i played was CoD 2 (which i remember bring really good) - I know the fashion is for modern day shooters now but are there any other great WW2 FPS games I should know about?
Thanks

*edit* should add its more from a 1 player perspective than MP

lol was going to say cod 2,

perhaps red orchestra 2 but its more of a simulation than a twitch shooter.

this style of game is very much out of favour at the moment, can't think of anything else infact.

You know day of defeat source is still very popular.

Graphically its still pretty good.

You want something single player...call of duty world at war has a great campaign and medal of honor airborne is a solid if unremarkable game.

cod1 or uo is still best ones out and online or offline still quite a few playing.

just remember though like cs you might get pwned by peeps who been playing years and the learning curve is higher than recent fps games.

cod 2 is very active online but in my op a bit consoley compared too 1 and united offence. after all it was made to launch the eggbox 360

cod waw for both sp & mp play, bf1942 + forgotten hope for mp only

I still love WW2 games, hopefuly in the future they wil become popular again :)

play waw everyday now again with quite a few friends :) bolt rifles graphics are still good and big carnage on tdm . still many actuive servers.

as for being old does older games matter if they have a active audience i bet nearly all the older cod games have a lot more people playing than the " newer " red orc 2 . cod 2 is very high on stat list.

in order of what id play

coduo
cod (no run)
waw
cod2
moh (older version)

never :p

red orc 2 :D

If you just want some multiplayer fun, (and you can find people online) you will be hard pressed to have more fun than Battlefield 1942. There was an incredible amount of variety in that game that later games of that series seem to lack.
(Of course that is if like the large scale that bf1942 was)

Red Orchestra 2 is, hmm... I'm kinda still on the fence about it. I've yet to have anywhere near as much fun as I had in RO in beta and release. Not sure why though.
