Best WW2 FPS

Do people still play COD:UO online?

They do, but as said above they're all really good lol.

Also be prepared to auto-download tons of mods. Very few online games running vanilla anymore.

I still like to jump on now and then. Even plain CoD1 :) Had to play around with files to get them to work on Win7 though :(

I was gonna say Day of Defeat Source but ive not played it for ages.

loving the sig quote in this thread lol

First Call of Duty.
Maps were Perfect, Weapons were completely Awesome, When you was a Yank you got off on killing Nazis & when a Nazi you gloried in killing Yanks, Game was Mint.

just been playing uo on a server called devils heroes was like 30 people on  the kar is just one of th best weapons in fps on that game pure class

Call of Duty World at War is actually quite a decent WW2 shooter. One of the better ones from this gen at least.

I still remember MOH AA and COD1 being really good single player WW2 fps, however bit dated by todays standards.

I enjoy WW2 fps more then this modern day stuff, COD MW etc aren't really for me so can see why you want to get a decent WW2 fps, although I do enjoy BF3 for modern day kicks..

Try COD World at War, its cheap nowadays and has a really good single player mode.

just a heads up loads of keys for heroes and generals gone out just got mine :p

see what it is like and theres a session tonight

Red Orchesta Ostfront:41-45

Unfortunately the sequel is rubbish because they just turned it into a CoD/MoH clone - losing the uniqueness of gritty and rather slow paced realism that made red orchestra special where as Red Orchestra 2 is very much a run and gun game with little strategy or team work. The devs thought that if they made it more like Battlefield more people would play it. This worked for a few weeks until battlefield 3 came out. Then the numbers dropped astronomically and didn't ever recover. Tripwire didn't please the more casual fans because it frankly isn't as good a run and gun game as BF3, and it ****ed off the old RO fans because RO2 plays nothing like the original and its historically very innacurate. RO2 in its current state is dead and the only hope for it is that the mod teams rescue it.

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway was very good I thought, a massive improvement on the first couple of games in the series and the cover/orders mechanic is actually fun to use rather than being a repetitive chore.

Ro2

Stunning gameplay, and takes some skill.

It takes all sorts I suppose :p

I was bitterly disapointed with RO2 tbh It would be a good game if more than 2000 people played it worldwide, servers are near dead. Hopefully after a few more patches and mods are out it will be what it should be. At the moment its isnt great.

But back to the question. I would say COD UO for gameplay COD2 is good also. My favoutite is MOHAA but its looking a bit dated even though I think it is the most perfectly balanced fps i've ever played.

I cant understand why WWII has gone sour it offers the best proper gameplay, all the weapons are balanced and there are no super weapons like in modern warfare that completely spoil the feel of the game.

MOHAA, the game that got me into pc's. Awesome single player campaign, and mp is arguably the finest ive ever played. Cod 1 was also very good, loved the brecourt manor level.
