Bet my new card is smaller than yours!

what crysis are you using warhead or the first one?

Edit - will get onto taking some benchies and pics of the cards after the footie. :)

This is really annoying, I have installed crysis from the dvd and for some reason can't run the benchmark. It will start, open up crysis and then it want's me to play through, I can't seem to get it to run the island timedemo.

Doh... schoolboy error, ok

Good stuff, I will get some pics and eventually... (these things take time) wack together a little spreadsheet with a few games and the card performance over those games. Should be a good comparison for people thinking about buying a lappy or upgrading their machine :)

Oh man, I hate this:

Hello Richard,

There is no further tracking available.

Actually, it complies to our adagio 'first things first'. Our current workload is rather high and as such we have to make choices. In this case, the choice was to send out cards to other costumers that are waiting rather than sending out courtesy mails.

You are not being messed around and neither will you be in the future. Timely or not, our service is sound.

Kris

I ordered an MXM card on Thursday from this german store (they do mxm upgrades, should be obvious who they are) I asked when ordering when it would be shipped and was told Monday.

Unlike OCUK who actually ship things when they say they will I get the above on FRIDAY (after sending them 3 emails) which means for 4 days they claim they had no time to send me an email explaining what was going on.

A service which is not timely is POINTLESS.

I don't think it has happened with anyone on here, but if I don't send out something I have sold on time, that day I will send out an apology email, then either upgrade them to a faster delivery service or at least send it out first thing the next day.

They can't even say sorry.

WOW close results!

My card is a low power version and thefore clocked lower:

400/1080/790

compared to:

500/1250/790

With clocking my card is comfortable at:

550/1190/962

All results are run at these clock speeds

Due to it being the low power version the core voltage is only 0.9V!

DX10:
1080p VeryHigh = 10.12
1080p Medium = 15.92
1280x720 Medium = 42.59
DX9:
1280x720 Medium = 45.94

Well look at that, your right there is practically nothing to choose between the two.

My cards clocks are:

According to a few reviews out there, they are practically neck and neck, trading blows at pretty much all resolutions. Interestingly according to the same review there are a few games where the 5650 (I assume therefore that the 250 is the same) is beating out the 260m by a margin.

This review - (not sure how correct) shows that there is only a small margin between the 5650, 250 and 260.

Really good stuff, and a nice upgrade for you :) Are you happy with it?

Very happy with it. The core is the weakest aspect. I don't think its stable at 550mhz, dropped it down to 540mhz. I have however been able to step the shaders up to 1200mhz and the memory to 972mhz.

I think it's close enough that if you are looking its down to whether you prefer Nvidia or ATI drivers and such.

I can't argue with that, lets be honest nobody would by a 5650 for its dx11 prowess.

Btw... can I be cheaky and ask how much that set you back? I am in the process of once again putting the gx620 into a new chassis and wouldn't mind a upgrade from the 9600m gt... with a 1680x1050 res the 9600gt really struggles when my buddys come over and rob the laptops for guild wars, css, l4d and alike.

£200 lol, so not cheap. I am letting the GT240M go for around half of that at some point. Let me know if you are interested.

hi i have the 5935G and it seems like the g card is on board but then again i couldnt get it fully striped i would like to update my g card if i can as i have the ati hd 4570 it does play mw3 ok tho

The only card that will give you proper modern gaming is the 6770M GDDR5 MXM A card. The 4570 is pretty dire:

4570m
80 shaders
64 bit DDR3

6770m
480 shaders
128bit GDDR5
