That image isn't working for me.

Check your stats against the chart above, bearing in mind the increase in attenuation from moving to ADSL2+.

On any line 12mbit or greater I'd say it's worth going for fastpath (VERY rough rule) as you probably won't lose too much speed and the improvements in pings are nice.

The Be-provided router isn't great. Get a Sky-branded Netgear DG834GT from an auction site and reflash it with the DGTeam firmware for optimal (and cheap) results. Alternatively, get an AM200 and a Linksys WRT54GL with the Tomato firmware for a more powerful and more expensive solution.
 
Incase it isnt included in rebelious's reply, what are the benifits of fath path? it just gives you a direct path to there servers correct? - Reason being i can explain to CS when i ring em up if they dont understand what FastPath is.
 
It's nothing to do with "a direct path to there (sic) servers". It reduces the interleaving depth to 0, so you should see reduced latency.

How much does attenuation go up by when moving to ADSL2+? at my current attenuation I should get a massive jump in speed according to that chart.

I'm not so fussed about increased speed though, just getting rid of throttling and limits in the evening.

Also, my Router is reporting "DSL Path Mode: FAST" does that mean fastpath is currently on? or is it only an ADSL2+ thing?


edit2: current router is a Linksys WAG354G - is that better than the Be one?

Impossible to tell, it'll depend how many >1Mhz tones your modem decides to use. It could potentially be zero.
I have a long line (54 dB attenuation) and even though no tones higher than 1 Mhz were used, my attenuation still went up from 54 dB to 58 dB on ADSL2+ :confused:

I've decided to stay with ADSL2 as my attenuation stays the same.
