Hey guys,

Okay so my current audio setup.

Xonar D1 Soundcard - Logitech X-540 5.1 - Plantronics Gamecom 380 Headphones

Id like something better, with clearer sound but this time something along the lines of a 2.0 or 2.1 setup..and an external AMP. (95% of the time i used Headphones.)

Would this be possible with say £150-£200?

What sort of setup would i be looking at?...i do a lot of gaming, and listening to music via Itunes,Spotify and Youtube..

Appreciate the responses. ;)

If you are using a Headphones 95% of the time then you should get a FiiO amp. As for speakers I wouldn't spend a large amount if they wont be used often.

Well,I do use Headphones 95%...

Theres so many Headphones & Amps out there though,What would you guys recommend?

I currently have 2 sound cards to choose from (ALREADY GOT) ..

  • Asus Xonar D1
  • Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro 64MB X-RAM

Not sure which of those two are better,Im guessing the X-FI?

ok you say you ant an amp ... are we talkign a proper hi-fi amp here with a headphone socket ? or do you want a headphone amp ?

The Sennheiser's are good, but at over £100 cheaper the P3's would deliver virtually the same quality audio.

I have to say the P3's are good but no where near as good as my 598's and his HD600's are better than those (I am right in thinking the op all ready owns HD600's).
Besides P3's are built for mp3 players (specifically iPhones) and don't need amplification
