I have to ask as I don't know if its just me and getting the pick of the miserable/ungrateful drivers on the road or whether it actually coincides with me swapping from my Focus to the now S2000.

9 out of 10 times I let someone out of a junction/cross the road or otherwise yielded at my discretion I got a thanks, in the focus this was. In the S2000 this figure has at least halved. I literally, after a couple of days noticed that far less people thanked me for letting them out, and its been happening for 2 weeks now. Either its a "bad streak" for manners on the road or somethings up :p

I also get let out far less by average car joe but seem to be let out more by better than average car joe who sometimes seems to inconveniance himself rather greatly and almosts gets average car joe into the back of him :D

Has anyone else noticed this when driving a different car (better, worse perhaps?) Does the old 5 door family hatchback Focus carry some sort of magnet for manners the 2 seater roadster does not? :o

I must say, it is pretty annoying and I am thinking "Screw you then" when I let someone out and they don't even say thanks and wish I never did let them out in the first place :p

I thank and let people out when i can regardless of what they drive, in the end they want to get to somewhere as much as i do :)

Can't comment on better car as i drive a £500 clio, only younger drivers let me out and thank me, old people never do...

Eh who knows.
When im driving I get a mix of both, idiots who I let out yet don't say thanks I just give them the finger, and idiots who don't let me out so i just blast my horn then give them the finger.

Can't say I noticed any difference in my astra/punto/mr2. Although now in my MR2 I seem to get more people tailgating me in their corsas in 30 zones who inevitably can't keep up when the road changes to a NSL.

definitely get more waves and nods/smiles in my Passat than in my private plated Fiesta Zetec.

Now I know why....every chavvy scrote round here gets a fiesta zetec and burns it all over the place

Everyone seems to let me out in the Jag (XJ8) and if I thank them, they always thank me back. I've driven loads of cars (worked for a rental firm) and I never get treated as well as I do when i'm in an XJ.

I get treated what I would class as "normally" in the Leon. Driving the 330d, less people thank you for waiting, and I certainly don't get let out of junctions anymore.

I drive a white van, im coming out if you like it or not ;):p

Cant say I notice a difference, 99% of people on the road are ditherers so by the time they have seen the light is green/a space is opening up, its been filled or im at 30mph already.

I've experienced this myself with different cars I have driven.

I noticed quite a change myself from driving a silver E46 BMW 330CI Sport to a very subtle ink blue Mondeo ST220, I get let out more, get more thank you's and generally get treated with more courtesy and decency. I also get far less boy racers in sheds and guys in hot hatches and what not trying to have a go or goading me into racing.

Me too, and I think I shock them as I'm a young male driver in an 'old' BMW. :p

Most people thank me though, and I often get let out...last night for example, when leaving work I was coming from a minor road to a major one and was waiting for traffic to clear, and a Ford Ka stopped and made everyone else stop so I could get out. :)

i hope this is a serious post

When I'm driving the Focus I'm invisible, people don't let me out or pull out on me etc...

In the MX5 it's the total opposite! So there is definitely a difference.

I seem to get all sorts of drivers waving and putting thumbs up in my new zed compared with the golf. I was at a roundabout waiting to go left last night and this supra went passed and gave me a thumbs up...I just had a puzzled face on! I presume he was appreciating the car, because I didn't know him and haven't seen his car around before :D

I usually let people out where possible and I think I do experience more people thanking me and also less people pulling out in front of me as they probably expect me to be going fast, when sometimes I'm just cruising along.

A old style corvette driver and TVR driver have both pointed at the car and given me a thumbs up too....like a mutual recognition of a nice motor :p

Must be a frame of mind, but I can certainly notice a difference since changing cars, however silly that sounds.

try driving a porsche no-one lets you out, ever and everyone seems to hate you on the roads too

oddly when you drive a ferrari everyone lets you out and everyone loves you, people even stop to chat to you

makes no sense to me, marque envy/hatred is a weird thing

Everone thinks im a arogant twit because I drive a Skyline. Quite frankly i could care less.

I was even told by a lady in a Range Rover sport once, that MY car was gas hungry and to big to be on the road. and that I should care more about the impact i was having on the environment then how good i looking in my car. wtf

99% of it is just jelosey. oh and when the boy racers hit that Saxo button i would love to read the owners forums about how a 1.6 vts beat a Skyline. "yeah ok off you go as if im going to nuke vpower to race you"
