Hey guys,

Was wondering if you could post your thoughts on which of the following 2 cases is better for my wc setup. I own both these cases but looking at selling one and want to make sure I'm keeping the right one.

The cases are: Bitfenix Shinobi XL and Corsair 650D.

Thanks for any help

I have the 650D I am going with a 240 (you can go with the 280 but from what I have read there are no good 140mm fans for radiators and a 240 with Synthe typhoons would probably be better) in the top and a 200 in the front seems like the best option. Only other options are a 120 in the back or cut the bottom of the case so you can put a 240 in the bottom. If your aim is to get the most out of water cooling I would go with the Shinobi as you can get more and bigger rads in it, but I still think the 650D is still a better case for looks and build quality.

I agree with the build design but I like the idea of the customisable trim and badge on the shinobi. Plus the main things that are leading me towards the Shinobi is that there is more room for bigger rads and that cable management is better as there isn't much room behind the mobo on the 650d and found the side panel to bulge out as I do have extra features needing extra cable where this wasn't a prob in the shinobi.

The only drawback is that I have 2 HDDs and 1 SSD and its handy that there is removable cages on the 650d but it'd mean having to remove the whole cage in the shinobi leaving me only 1 front bay for 3 drives. I do have 2 front bay hdd convertors that came with the shinobi but may mean a bodge job and side mount of the ssd, or the other option is that I could trim down the cage leaving 3 spaces for the drives and reinstall it.

Well i found a unique way in which i put 1 hdd on the bay convertor and found i was able to install the ssd on the underside of it which has solved the problem.

just a shame that bitfenix doesnt do the detachable cages like the 650d.
