Better speeds if I move away from Zen?

Hi,

I'm 132m from the local exchange and here are the stats...

I'm on Zen 8MB and do most of my downloading after 1am when speeds are at the highest. They average 400kB/sec.

Browsing speed is generally very good and customer service has been bang on and reliability...no problems at all.

I'm getting no where near the theoretical speed so I take it moving to a 24 Meg service will make no difference?

Thanks in advance.

Moving to an ADSL2+ service might make a difference, but it depends - that downstream SNR margin isn't normal, was your connection initially unstable or does it drop nearer 6dB when you connect?

You're getting pretty near what you're connected at - you should be on the 4Mbps IP profile, which translates to ~400kB/s. You're nearer 2.5km of copper from the exchange too.

Is your phone wiring & phones filters etc (internal and master BT connection) shiny, new & underground or older, potentially damaged / corroded or overhead?
