After buying a new pc and a large plasma, i figured i should upgrade my speakers etc as well.

I plan to pick up the Sony STRDG820 amp, but i am still undecided about the speakers. I have been reccomended the Tannoy SFX 5.1 but if there is anything better for £200-£300 please let me know :D

I had originally planned to get logitech z5500's, but if i can get much better then im happy to fork out a little extra.

Also, should i bother with a sound card for that set up?
I will mainly be watching movies and listening to music through my pc, so if i get a sound card it will most like be one of the Xonar cards.

Many thanks!!

I@ve just done exactly the same thing, and changed from some very loud, but not very clear logitech z5300s. In the end I went for a similar amp, but some Jamo A102HCS5 speakers, which everyone on the audio forums seem to rave about, and what hi fi called the best sub £500 set.

I got them at just under £200 in the jungle.

have you set the Jamo A102HCS5 up yet mate? any good?

im in two minds at the moment, don't know whether i should go for the tannoy SFX 5.1 or the Jamo A102HCS5.

Just did a couple of days ago, and to my ear they're fantastic. They're so much clearer than the logitech, which I found to have too much base and not enough mid range.
