Better way to spend the money on audio?

Give it a rest, they have been selling audiophile cables for over 35 years, if they did not offer improvement they would have stopped selling them.

Russ Andrews power cables start at £65 for a 1 meter. The Van Damm Silvers are £35 for 1 meter on eBay.

This is PS Audio's view on cables

If you think the cables make no difference then you either don't understand or never tried them.

A certain ex-USA president has been ripping people off for decades, your point being? Sure get decently quality cables, but if you buy overpriced snake oil cables you're just being conneed.

Denon AVR have decent pre out especially if you use all channel pre amp mode.

What voltage does it measure? Last I looked, Denon & Marantz pre-out voltage was rubbish. I had a Marantz AVR and the pre-out voltage measured was abysmal so I had to trade it in as I needed to go for a separate amplifier.

If going for a dedicated multi channel amplifier, I'd personally go for a dedicated processor with a good pre-out voltage.

I read an article in the dedicated pre-out mode it made nearly no difference when they measured it.

ASR have results, have a look at the Denon 3700,4700, 6700 and 8500.

Denon are one of the best AVR when it comes to pre out voltage, they can reach my required 1.6v on my power amps

The Marantz models except for the SR8015 aren't good due to HDAM increasing distortion.

Have you ever tried better cables? If your answer is no then you have no experience in this area.

Budget / free cables limit good audio equipment.

I have suitably quality cables that aren't overpriced, spending £80 on one set of RCA cables is stupid.

Since you made the claim on exteroic cables please provide evidecnce a £200 set of RCA cables are better than a £30 set, using the same termination plugs.

Where are you getting these prices from?

I mentioned some Van Damm Silver 55's - go and search the price on eBay.

And while you at it, look at all the reviews for them.

Are those reviews objective or subjective? Can you provide objective tests of Russ Andrew IEC cables over stock supplied cables?

Your sounding like a fool. There reviews by different people.

Your believe system is set that these cables make no improvement, yet you have never tried them.

So to argue against something you have never tried, pretty insane really.

Thought so can't provide supportive evidence, so it's dismissed. Other people saying "these IEC cables make it better" is not evidence.

If you can provide link to objective results?

I'm posting about something that makes an improvement to my home audio, there is countless other positive reviews / comments on these things.

The Russ Andrews cables were tested by a company called 3C to see how the woven design filtered conducted electromagnetic interference.

https://www.whathifi.com/news/russ-andrews-wins-asa-case-and-cleared-misleading-consumers

They tested both their premium cables costing in the thousands, but also there cheaper PowerKords cables - there the ones I mentioned in my first post on this thread. These cables can be purchased pre-owned on eBay around £40+, this is how I purchased all mine, the OP has a £4.5k budget.

But I don't need that test to tell me they work, as I can hear the improvement. Incidentally I can't hear any noise reduction (my studio monitors are very quiet anyway), what I can hear is more detail in the sound, and the sound more musical.

My studio monitors are that revealing, I can sometimes hear interference that's in an original recorded track.

The difference is such if I connect a Russ Andrews cable to one studio monitor only then I unbalance the sound.

What I wrote in my very first post.

However the Van Damme Silver interconnects make much more difference than the Russ Andrews cables. You do interconnects first, then power cables second. I don't want to get in an argument about cables, but take a leap of faith and trust me when I say they give an improvement.
