I can officially confirm that the DT770pro and MMX300 ARE NOT THE SAME WITH AN ADDED MIC

Very clean defined sound and a bass i can feel from the mx300, the pro's are more a boomy bass that covers fine details.

I think money very well spent.

Curious as why you would consider i would want to sell the DT770's, by the way i really like your blog.

I prefer the MMX300's but i do also like the DT770's, my son prefers the DT770's for comfort on long gaming sessions, as the MMX300's are red leather ear pads he says he finds them more uncomfortable maybe we both have them set differently as i have them set to smallest they can go and he has to lengthen them, i find them very comfortable plus they match my haf x.

I wonder why beyers didn't make the MMX300's cheaper.

Hehe... If I were you I wouldn't! But I just noticed that you'd said that you might if you didn't need one set.

Interesting that your son prefers the DT770's over the MMX300's. I'd be more interested in the MMX300's if they were a bit cheaper, but at their current price, not anytime soon.

No, that's because the Premiums and the MMX are the same, not the pros

This with a little further detail on impedance.

All the DT770 range sound similar but the different impedance, pro and premium versions are all supposed to sound slightly different.

He prefers the sound of the MMX300's over the DT770's, he just doesn't find the MMX300's as comfy.

And if the MMX300's are the same as the premiums, why on earth would they price them so high and not compete with other headsets, doesn't make much business sense.
