Beyerdynamic DT880 cable quality?

If anyone has/has had a set of DT880s can you say if you felt the cable was durable?

I've been looking for a set of headphones a step up from my NS1000s and currently I'm considering the DT880s / AKG Q701s. The DT880s seem to have better build quality whilst the Q701s have a removable cable.

Looking at ordering both later in the month and sticking with what I feel is better, but gathering any input first. If anyone owns either set, or has upgraded from NS1000s to a similar pair, would appreciate comments!

I own the DT880's and the NS1000's and the cable's are similar but the 880's is slightly thicker and imo is very durable.

Well in terms of build quality and comfort the DT880's win hands down.

The DT880's do sound better as they have a wider soundstage and sound a lot brighter than the NS1000's.
