nah it wasn't that as i had tried it briefly two weeks ago and couldn't get it working then couldn't be bothered at the time to sort it, but got it working after all yesterday and i'm quite impressed so far.

You don't. You can however buy alternate weapons once you level up by spending victory points, which you earn by playing.

Yes, I think that was the problem. 1942 + mods, Vietnam + mods, BF2 + mods, and I just didn't like what I experienced in BF:H.

I'll admit I didn't give it much of a chance but cartoony graphics are not for me.
