i didnt really rate desert combat i liked it but it wasnt that good, the normal bf1942 was the best

BF1942 is well worth getting just for Forgotten Hope Mod. Though development has now ended with version 0.7 you will not find any other WW2 FPS game with as many weapons, vehicles & maps as FH has. There is a still a fan map to be relased but we are still in the final stages of testing it and I can assure you its worth the wait and should not be much longer.

BF1942 came this morning, it's installed, patched, with DC, star wars and FH mods installed.

Just can't play it because my PSU is messed lol

The team behind Desert Combat were hired by EA to become a big part of the BF2 team. IIRC

imho DC is actually more fun than BF2. Granted not as polished but there is a lot to be said for the constant rank stacking in BF2 that makes it less appealing

Bf2 is good but it never really clicked with me the same as DC
