BF2 1.4 Patch OUT

Yeah but i also heard that with this 'infantry mode' other things are changed, like you get more health etc. Im not sure how true this is though.
 
This would have to be the day my ISP (tiscali) decide that they wish to provide a really rubbish slow connection that is worst than 56k... and I'm supposed to be on 4Mb (most I can get out here).

To those that have played:

Are the problems from 1.3 still there? EA and DICE need to sort out their priorities if the game still hasnt been fixed by the time 2142 is out. I mean, I love the game but it was unplayable for me during 1.3 and since then ive just stuck to Counter Strike: Source, atleast on that im guaranteed a game without a message flashing on my screen saying:

"There Is A Problem With Your Connection".

Well yeah it is almost standard but when a server gets nailed by loads of downloaders then getting 500kb/s is pretty good....thats only half my maximum download speed as I am on 10Mb :D

I'm not too sure about this yet, I've only had a quick game on the new map but so far, so good. No CTDP and the weapons seem a little more balanced as well, doesn't seem to take a full mag to take someone down now like before :rolleyes:

lol changed from Tiscali as soon as my contract ran out, BT now, only 2MB but constant speeds and no downtime at all.

The 1.4 patch is good so far! 6 players to start a ranked game and the new map is FUN!

Yeah... i took a break just before 1.3, and hearing what a mess it was, haven't gone back... kinda miss the 50k lot.

Have you tried resetting the video settings? the patch may have knocked them back to default so your refresh rates don't match

I still can't install the patch til after my match at 2:30 am :rolleyes: tbh though I've only ever had connection problems with the 50clicks server on Karkand when they hosted the game against OcUK and we were winning :p

When you upload files to newsgroups they can get broken; par2s allow you to repair the files without having to re-download the whole archive again. I.e., say rar .r01 was broken, instead of downloading the whole 50mb file again you can probably repair it with a single 1mb or so par2 file.

I use http://www.quickpar.org.uk/ with par2s to repair files.
