BF2 - Getting angry

How long are you waiting when the game says connecting to server? When I first installed my BF2, I think I waited aprox 4 minutes. Well just under 5 mins and then it finally loaded. After that it connects faster (around 40 secs of waiting).

Just try leaving it. I thought it was crashing but it wasn't.

Not to mention how long it takes to download and install new patches. You spend all that time downloading and installing them....then they decide not to work properly.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, I really enjoy playing it. It's just a bloody nightmare, and can sometimes, if not most of the time be very frustrating and annoying.

The long loading/connecting times suck.
EA need to get a grip :p

Assuming I have not just messed with graphics settings, causing it to recalculate shaders, it takes under 30sec at the most. It used to be longer before I forwarded the BF2 server ports too, at which point my ping went from 40ms to 18ms as a bonus.

Well i installed COD2 lastnight & went strate to multi to spectate... i was impressed.
I hope that BF2+SF will do the same at least that i`m about to install...now with added incentive :D

Don't bother with single-player in Battlefield 2, unless you're after some target practise against idiotic bots. :) Online mode is fantastic though, be sure to hit the BF2S or 50klicks servers for the best folks to fight with. :D

I hope i can just spectate for a while to see what im up against & to be sure before i join that your not waiting there to have first kill on the noob :)
 
If you're dead (not critically wounded) you can press C I think to cycle through the other players on the team. How ever not all servers allow you to , it's third person so you really don't see how they are aiming etc and you might get kicked for being idle if you do it too long.

When players on your team somehow end up with their nametag turning red, at which point you accidentally team-kill them over and over until you see them going ballistic in team chat. :(

Don't think I've seen that one.. yet. Although I do remember seeing one or two people with yellowy white (I think.. may have been another colour) names..
 
I know its not the right thing to do but i just find it so funny to plant explosives on your own teams troop helicopter, wait for it to fill up and then blow it to bits!! Very funny but gets you kicked!!

Do the same with the jets, awesome! :D

Just say the helicopter had a red name. ;) Was probably full of chopper-whores who don't contribute anything at all to the team anyway, let 'em have it. :p
