Its all down to the server. Losers Forever Server is very good team play server.

I hate bunnies but find them easy to kill as they can not jump and shoot. As for the nade spamming it only happens in 1 map ie karkand infantry. Single shots are the way to go in this game

Ahh BF 1942 I was really good at sniping - I even killed someone on the other side of the island when they were right on the edge of visability at max zoom.
I had to aim an inch above them and and inch infront of them.. but it killed them.

Also annoyed people in 1942 with other fun things:
a) killing planes with sniper rifle (you'd have to empty the gun and reload but hey..)
b) killing planes with howitzer - same skill just slightly larger :)

Later BF wasn't as fun as the guns became point and click and with the radar you became insta-kill due to the changes of the other guns having just as much range.

yeppers the first 5-10 mins or Karkand is like a medics/supports stats padding session :p everyone is throwing so many nades and all bottlenecking in the same places, so just spam medic packs and ammo and u start raking up the points lol!

however that type of play gets old pretty fast because as soon as you spawn, run round the corner ooooo a tank 2 apc's and about 40 guys throwing grenades and blindly shooting in your general direction :p

thats why as the US its good to try and sneak to someother point and then while they are busy spamming u take every other point :D ;)
 
BF2 is really not a game designed for snipers sadly, I always liked playing sniper in MOHAA but in BF2 you need to be aggressive to cap the flags so people just sitting in a tower are never going to help the team that much.

You would probably be better off playing infantry only, personally though I think this defeats the whole purpose of playing BF2 - the vehicles. The idea of being naded to death on Karkand or constantly stepping on claymore's does not appeal and without vehicles you might as well play any other FPS such as CS:S.

I understand your frustration though, BF2 can be awful when you end up on the wrong team (full of noobs/tk'ers) and the other team has 5 colonels/generals!. You need balanced teams more than any other game.

first point kinda true but is also helpful in certain situations liek the oil fields, get one squaddy to go up on the hill as a sniper before the rest of the squad raids a base is pretty handy, they can help spot those people hiding about waiting to kill you in the base and pick them off so you cap :)

and god yes!!!! 1/2 the problem is some of the time ** on a team full of people waiting for one jet and then tk anyone in the way to get to it :mad: and then the other time ** on a really good team based side and the other side are like headless chickens, ok u may win quickly but its not as fun because it seems toooo easy ;)

mention OCUK in voip and i will help you out, marksman is nice if you want to snipe, + there are no hud or arty and commander cant zoom into you or spot you.

Yeah kinda sucks from time to time.
But really just play mods and often pop into a dalian or jalalabad server for a couple of games.
Most of the time it feels like 9 year olds are playing the game.
Been playing tf2 under the name Kronos Iconz and that is such more layed back and easier to play.
Also i believe that it is free weekend for tf2, so gettin my mates playin it.

Either get Reality Mod (great if you have a decent VOIP squad).

Or get Battleground Europe. Quite simply the most engaging online game you will ever play. It just takes some getting into.

ah.....BF1942....the happy days! :):):)

I used to enjoy Pixel shooting the ship on I think it was Omaha...destroy the ship & the brits have no where to spawn! :)
 
Sitting in One spot for ages Playing Sniper is probably the most boring thing to do anyway in the game, and your asking for a car to be dropped on your head.
Always Join a squad and have a little Look at the Map before you spawn to avoid getting spawn Killed.
if you feel the Point you wanna spawn at might result in you getting spawn killed, spawn on your Squad Leader instead.
Stay Close to team mates for better chance of getting Revived.
Play on Infantry Only servers, which have no Artillery or Vehicles.
try to master using either Armour, Helicopter or Jet, but i warn ya, once you get good as using them, you will become a Armour, Heli or Jet Wh0re.
 
Change your tactics depending on the map. Never camp on a map as a sniper - unless it's a big map, like Fushe Pass. For the standard game, look for the Kifferstubeuchen (??) servers - they're rather good :)

I agree wholeheartedly :)
I'm normally on thier all maps server. My other preferred server is SwissGamingForceCH (Special Forces though). A decent set of rules, regular players and a decent admin make or break a BF2 server.
