BF2 Problem

Ok so just installed BF2 on my Vista 64bit computer and everytime I join a sevrer it kicks me after about 20seconds with the following message...

PunkBuster kicked player UKJolo (For 0 Minutes)...
RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PunkBstrA.exe

Any way to solve this?

Have you got a firewall running?

This is the problem most of the time, some times the windows firewall can be apain also. You could try disabling them on a tempory basis just to confirm this. The set up a rule in your firewall so that punkbusterr has access.

Yeh I was looking for the exe on the firewall settings but cannot find it anywhere, ill disable to firewall now for a moment and try it...

I just disabled the firewall and ttryed it but no joy so i guess that aint the problem...

Join the club. Find the original massive BF2 thread and have a read in the last few pages. It may have to do with the fact that at some point Punkbuster did not update automatically ingame and it has to be done maunally. I tried (but on xp) a few times and just gave up playing over summer. It was well documented online then; I hope it's not happenning again.

updating PB is really easy nowadays. go to the evenbalance site and download the actual HTML files needed = no problem
