BF2 Stuttering!

sorry but am with malc30 on this one a lot of people flame ea (yea yea i no about the stats and all) but a lot of people blame the game for not running smoothly on there pcs am sorry but thats bulls**t i have had this from day 1 as well granted i have not put in 2k hours on it (600 only here) the game had its problems at first like all games and ea have sorted them out patch by patch and i bet 99.9% of people play the game with no problem its just the 0.01% that you see on forums moaning and whinging about it been "badly coded" or "it will not play on my pentium 3" (trust me its been done) and for some strange reason its them people the possible future players of bf2 listen to :mad:

For the record my system is not high end, far from it, 939 AGP. Another thing the game is 2 years old. If i can get it working for over 2000 hours on the 3 old rigs i've had/have & others cannot get it running on current systems then please don't knock someone that could actually help.
My own example would be yesterday when i booted up BF2 it CTD twice, i ran Ad aware & S&D which took a few minutes & all is right again.
BF2 is a Brilliant game that now patched to 1.41 runs sweet with the Odd minor bug popping up every now & again. Only one i can think of off the top of my head is the Squad bug, this just means the team for one round are not able to create squads. A pain yes but next round all is sorted, minor in such an Epic title.
In my opinion there is No online game that even comes close to a 64 man BF2 server/battle. For 30 quid i have had 2000 hours of online gaming heaven.

I find it doesnt stutter on single player but it will stutter on mutiplayer when there is over 32 on the server, not always but it does happen.. can be like a slideshow at times which is odd considering the ping is under 70 at those times

Correct about no game being like BF2 especially in the larger servers.

But if you want to have gaming hell join me on a server

It's interesting to see if you will be a player who has a fair bit of game time and is actually good. Or like the majority of high rankers who still suck.

I have 1500 hours and if i had put 4200 total and a average 7 1/2 hours into a video game i would expect to be competing in Top leagues and in a semi/pro clan at least :confused:

Personally I'd dump Vista and dual boot with XP and use that for gaming.

The number of people I have seen complaining about BF2 on Vista makes me think why bother until it get sorted out. Sorry I can't be more helpful but I do not wish to make my life more painful by 'downgrading' to Vista for the time being

plays fine for me,everything set on high,4xaa on my new rig, even on my old athlon setup it always ran well. no problems at all when joining a game

they have low fps but no stuttering, if you have a good pc you will not have any problems with BF2 unless you put dynamic shadows and lighting on (which just hog fps) and they are not needed. It's actually easier to play without them for infantry and vehicles, no shadows for enemies to hide in.

Have you checked out his stats , he would be eaten alive in a Clan Base match , look at his Heli kills 78,000 out of his 118,000 kills all made chopper whoring on Wake 1525 hours in a chopper .The rest probably sitting in the que , sorry players like this make me sick .And he is only no5 in the world in a chopper !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyhow back on topic , Vista 64Bit stutters all over the place for me as well ,thats trying with 5 different drivers 4gb of ram and even with AA turned off . I have tried everything and the only solution was to boot back to XP where I will stay until Crysis arrives.

Yes i have checked his stats, and would you belive he is actually average in a chopper? i have played with and against him and he is someone who plays a lot and still is no better at the game for doing so.

Yepp I play Clanbase matches but a lot of it it theese days is Infantry only games so if your a Vehicle whore you gonna get yer arse pwned big time.

Playing on a Pub for stats is only one part of the game , if you can get in a good Clan and get some rapore going on Teamspeak it opens up a whole new world , still ETQW is round the corner and a lot of players are gonna defect anyhow .

That is true about if you only use vehicles. but im not a one trick pony

i wouldn't be certain about a lot of players leaving for ETQW it will probably be the next 2142

Anyone else get atifacts when putting the PCI-E bus upto 100Mhz ?

I set it all up for overclocking, and it was stable playing HL2, but in BF2 I was getting little black squares flickering across the screen.

I took the overclocks off and they were still there, so I set the bios back to optimized defaults and they went away.

PCI-E bus is set to auto, but I don't know what it set's itself at on auto ?
