BF2 Unlock option choice

Not if i am Commander or many of the other Proper players on BF2.
If you don't follow my orders then you will get No UAV and No supplys and No back up it's as simple as that.
When i start a round as commander i treat all squads the same but if any disobey orders or do not play as a team they get ignored.
When a good squad realises there commander is looking after them they appreciate it by following orders and benefit from the commanders help.
Any time there is a Bad commander on i tell him, Sort it out mate or i will take the position next round. As a Colonel it is unlikely he will out rank me for the Commanders job.
Sounds very arrogant i know but basically BF2 is the best game in the world with team play but the worst game in the world without it.
All those that are still playing BF2 know this and want it to continue.
 
True. However I was playing Jalalabad for the first time and all it was, was MEC had all of the flags, so basically our commander was useless but I made what I could have it. The other team kept stealing our tanks and base raping, my team kept doing I have no idea what but they were no where near capturing any flags. So I hop in the humvee go down and start capping flags, killed a few, then I keep requesting UAV, finally get it after a while, but I kept telling the commander what to do, I should have been commander tbh, he was a first sgt.

Okay so I capped every flag, and im telling the commander to do a scan and spot for me, he was unable to do that :rolleyes: . We won yeah but my team didn't do anything at all, there was 10 on each side or so but its as if they weren't their?

I have a small theory of such, it seems that the "noobs" or pvts as termed they go cap flags, they don't mind being killed. However the high rankers seemed to just wait around for the Tank or heli's and jets on other maps even if it was taken and its as if they were "scared" to go cap a flag incase they died.

I heavily enjoy my vehicles, helicopter, tanks, jets etc but I will go infantry if it is needed like in that situation, im an all round player at the end of the day.

I don't have ANY unlocks yet, but I'm coming close to becoming a Private First Class. How do you unlock weapons then? Is it a case of playing as a certain class (ie anti-tank)?

I've only tried each class out a few times, but I seemed to do best as support, so I'll carry on being support for now. I quite like anti tank also, but I don't really do as well when playing as anti-tank.

do you have any friends with the special forces addon ? you can obtain two free unlocks if they login with your account then play a round or two
it will take you a few days to find a particular class you prefer so choose wisely

the L A5a1 medic unlock is a newcomer friendly gun and very accurate on single fire or the special ops G36C

best bet is download the single player all unlocks MOD, that way you can try them all out and get a feel for whats best for you .. cant find link atm

I still help the squads who don't follow orders, as if they keep getting raped, then I don't get my double points at the end of the game. I usually just spam the "Rebuke squad" message at them so they know they're a steaming pile of...

Also, some of my best games have been on teams getting utterly banged. There is something immensly satisfying about coming top on the server when you were on a side that took a massive beating.

[edit] You get your unlocks when you get promoted (apart from the very first promotion). Once you get a promotion, the next time you are in the game lobby page, it will flash up a screen showing the different unlocks available to you at that time.

malc30 whats your squad called ? im a n00b, ive come from 4+ daily playing delta force black hawk down online, so not a complete noob to shooters and teamplay, but a complete n00b to BF2.

ive played the 2142 demo and just ran around on my own, no teamplay at all and could hardly find my other team members on the map..... not fun.
 
I don't call my squad anything mate.
I go Squad leader as i enter a round then i kick anybody who doesn't spawn with me or follow orders. Obviously i give them time to settle into my squad Before i get lairy.
As they join i just state on Voip teamplayers only in my squad, if you are not a teamplayer Leave. I never ask anyone to join so i run my squad how i want.
Having said that i am a damn good SL. I Never let my squad spawn on me unless it is safe to do so and i Always let them know when Not to spawn on me. At times like this i just let them know they are not needed at the mo and go have some fun i'll give you a shout if i need you.
It works for me and others seem to appreciate it as my squads are always full. Obviously those that don't like it and want to go stat whoring leave and go on there merry way.
With voip i find like minded players stick around for ages but you do have to be like minded.
Anyone who plays with me should be aware that i shout scream swear Laugh hysterically and get proper into my gaming. You either like it or you don't.
Some of my mates think it adds to the game but others wouldn't play with me ever again :p
 
I find the unlocks really strange, when BF2 was first released the unlocked weapons DID show a significant increase in accuracy and damage over the weapons available by default when starting out.

Loads of patches later and we arrive at 1.41 and I feel the unlocked weapons are inferior to those available by default.

Does anyone else seem to find this, I find it is especially noticable with the M4A1 (Spec Ops) the AK-47 (both assault and medic class) these weapons with the latest patch just seem currently better than the G36C, L-SCAR, **5A1 and the G36-E, all these guns seem to have been dubbed down from when they were initially released (a fair few patches ago) and the default guns now seem to be far superior.

Can't say I've noticed it , weapons seem as they always have to me.

Wish they would change them though , get rid of the cone of fire and random deviation and put some proper recoil on the guns instead. Make it so they need practice and someone who has played for a day or so can't outshoot someone who has played for months.

O and Yes the Default weapons have been balanced.

yep a few of the default guns are more user friendly since 1.2 patch with the AK101 being probably the best
remember when the F2000 nade launcher was all peeps used due to the insane splash damage and ability to bunny hop and fire ?
altho i miss the blackhawk death machines in the unpatched vanilla bf2 ]8-

Hmm I just remmembered you can name your own squad. I never bothered before just created one but now I've remembered. Time to have some fun :).
 
What servers do you lot play on, mite jump on in a wee wile, BF2 would be a welcomed break from..... 2142 :p
