bf2

Latest patch is 1.41 and no it is not buggy. Community wise it is thriving and there are loads of servers up with plenty of people on them. Infantry only is the way to go for full on 64 man battles.
I've played it since day one and still play it daily, in my opinion the best online game so far.
 
Did the same as you early January. As usual great gameplay but find people to play with most of the time. Your usual pub servers are inhabited by the usual smacktards. Teamkilling, carrier raping is still on Wake. The smacktards remain the same.

Inf only mode is great. EA suck as usual, they really do, no free maps or nothing as usual, think they gave up on BF2.

still playing from day one... although Battlestation midway will be good? :cool:

Yes that gets me aswell by the time I've worked out he's the enemy he's performed acrobatics and still had time to shoot me in the head with one shot.

I've also yet to work out why it is when I use a rocket launcer or I'm in a tank I have to hit them three or four times but they only have to hit me twice at most.

its just the animation of him crouching. If you go prone and left strafe say, you "character" will do the same for other players.

I can recommend the 50K servers as a safe place to play on - well admin'd, they dont put up with the ******** that all the tards bring with them.

BF2 still is the best online game imo, despite EA's best efforts.

its a good game, but can be ruined by all the bunny hoppers and insta proners which populate every server
EA should use the same principle as Day Of Defeat, if you prone you cant fire until your on the floor etc
i prefer 1942 and BF2 settings ie weapons tanks planes copters etc over most other shooters, but i play 2142 more as you dont meet the above idiots or get tk'd, fact
they need to release a map pack for BF2 to keep everyones interest going, not another booster, just 2-3 new EA maps
 
I've started playing BF2 again, although I now play Project Reality mod which is awsome :D

The weapons are far more realistic, more accurate (especially when standing/crouched), about 8 new maps, loads more vehicles, bunnyhoppers are gone, all the really annoying things are gone, artillery and UAV has gone from most maps, which makes it much more fun.

And even better, there is a new patch coming out in less than a week (Feb 8th) which has even more maps and vehicles, tons of fixes, it even has a land rover :D :D )

I suggest you watch the video's on the homepage of the website.
 
agreed , Project Reality is quality, its just too many bf2 players play for pts and stats so dont support the MOD community
 
Slightly off topic.

I downloaded a map pack from "Total BF2 "

Installed it correctly, and it shows in the map choices for single player.

But there is no preview picture ( on the right hand side of the screen ) and when i select it to load it just goes black screen and crashes ?

Any helpers ?

EDIT - Ignore my question , i'm downloading Project Reality at the mo ( 1.6G 3hrs40mins :eek: )

I would be playing it now if I didn't botch up my Tuniq Tower installation and have my cpu idle at 40-50degrees right now :(
 
I still play BF2. And yes, so do the smacktards. Oman is the worst, constantly bombing the carrier. What's even worst is some servers say you can only rape the uncaps if you have all other flags, so there's really not much chance of being able to spawn without being smacktarded.

I do enjoy the PoE2 mod for it though, good maps, weapons, vehicles, etc. But usually i just prefer BF2 vanilla.

And i don't care what people say, BF2 is still the best online game you can get IMHO. Yes, better than CSS. All it needs is optimisation.

Wake is the worst for smacktarding, teamkilling, spawn killing, carrier raping.

I can never get commander because the same person goes commander round and round over and over again. Come back a few hours later they are still there commanding, only because they have a high rank of say General/Colonel because they play 24/7.

So I asked one Colonel, his name was something like davidm26, I said "let someone else command" and he said "bite me i want my ribbon", reffering to war college ribbon, then he said "i dont even like commanding i just need the time up". So he just didn't command and sat away doing nothing or just playing the game, idiots obviously. Bad thing about the stat/award system I guess.
