BF2142 Open Beta thread

Not really if the person tried the first beta and is not botherd about downloading the new updated one, his key will still work on this new one mine did.

Previously i reserved my current bf2 name using the veteran link thing..is this meant to be available now or not until full release? i'm trying to create the name in the beta but it says it's already taken.
 
I was having fun for the first few days, enjoyed it quite a bit.

I think that was only because I had not played any battlefield game for a bit and i forgot how fun it could sometimes get, but then the bf2 engine started to show through and it just reminded me of why I stopped playing.
 
Tis crap anyway, few updated models, crappier framerates for no real reason, people still dive to prone like retards constantly and it still seems to work for them, weapons are weak as hell and pretty inaccurate as well. Frag grenades are actually an unlock.. :rolleyes: so basically you start out in this game weaker than in bf2 despite the fact this is meant to be the future.

My download finished at 1.30am this morning,

Installed when I got up and set everything to high and had 10 mins of running round, then second try my mouse won't work as soon as I enter the game??

Have a MX1000 cordless but will try a corded one tonight, may go back to POE with my mates as I'm liking that atm :D
 
Well, I'm in and quite enjoying it. theres a few issues glaring out at us, but fo a beta its pretty fantastic.

Closest I've come to the JO feeling for a long while. :D

Ive got the beta too of this but tbh i go back too bf2 everytime, i doubt ill be buying this.

BF2 is a year old now i expect the next bf game to be a big step in gfx, gameplay but this is pretty much the same so far jsut not done aswell, a waste of £4 imo signing upto fileplanet.
 
I'm not impressed with 2142 at all. It's not the roughness of it, but it seems like an amateur mod rather than a "professionally coded" release.
As said above, I'll stick to POE2.
