. just a quick question say we get 3 ranks in beta, will it count in the final thing, so when you make your account you will be like rank 4 etc?

Unfortunatly ive got a rubbish PC so I cant take part in the Beta. Can anyone give me a quick rundown of the game, like what it does well, good points and bad points. Im not expecting an essay, I just wanna know whether itll be worth buying straight away or whether ill be better off getting Quake Wars.

I very much doubt that we will keep our unlocks/ranks, usally when a beat if finsihed all stats are wiped, however i believ if u sign up for the veteran thing u get a free lvl.

yes, its crap tbh, there are better mods out there than this.
i think its a quick cash in before et:qw arrives.

2142 is not bf2 in the future its a totally diff game and i dont think you can compare it much due to the diff gameplay , ie, capture points launch to titan, blow it up - NDA this NDA that , whatever .... blah blah , everyone knows what the game is, the classes the upgrades.

maybe the full game will offer a better experience, but the beta is boring.

ill stick with bf2

k, and no you don't get to keep your unlocks they will all be wiped at the end off the beta on tuesday.

I think I may well do that too. I bought the game, played it for a week or 2 on 1.3 and havnt played since. My guys only got around 300 points

I am very pleased the way BF2142 is shaping up! I was a bit warey about the futuristic side of things and i can gladly say im not worried anymore.

I have to disagree, ** basing that assumption on the 1 map in the beta, the beta was just to test out the new game mode Titan, there will still be normal maps just like bf2, capturing flags etc.

it wasnt an assumption, i just dont like the gameplay nor the feel of the game which amongst my clan m8s and friends is the general consensus.

atm in bf2 clan wars everyone uses the stock weapons and NO unlocks which is no problem as those weapons are fine , something that you couldnt do in 2142 *stock sniping anyone ? no nades/defibs/explosives etc etc well i could go on about the poor unlock system & vehicles yada yada yada etc but i wont cause the NDA police might shout at me o_'

there was sooo much hype about this game, and yes i couldnt wait to get my hands on it, but the experience has been empty and dull.
like i previously stated in the post above maybe the full game will offer a better experience, but the beta is boring & ill stick by that opinion for now

As long as the unlocks system is perfected and you can always access them every time, the clan matches are going to be a lot more tactical even before the games start. You will want to be able to switch kits around a lot, so it'll pay to have selected the right unlocks. As long as the bugs get sorted, it'll be good and i think it could be quite a contender with ET:QW, i think much more highly of 2142 than i did before the beta.

they may also release a game that doesnt need patches and is free of bugs ....
no sorry, i cant say that without bursting into laughter ...

dont get me wrong i think bf2 is the best online fps out there atm even with its problems,
but im dissapointed with the 2142 beta even after adjusting to it over a few weeks,
so im not making a rash decision/judgement nor getting carried away with its hype.

Its not my cup of tea for sure if they releasing a new game i expect a new looking gfx engine not just milk the bf2 one and expect everyone to pay for it classing it as a new game.

I subscribed too fileplanet just for the beta and aint played it since they released the new updated client i just don't like it as it stands.

If I'd bought BF2, no way in hell would I buy 2142 based on the beta...however, since I didn't buy BF2, but played it a bit, 2142 is very similar but I just prefer the futuristic setting.

2142 looks fun. I am dissapointed about the graphics however. Game seems cool. I am scared of constant nurfing ruining the game courtesy of the useless patch team.

I am enjoying the beta, few bugs but thats understandable. It is exactly the same gameplay as BF2 but in a different setting. I dont think i would feel comfortable paying £30 for it though.
