It got really bad for me in my last game:



FPS all over the place! I'm gonna set shadow quality to MEDIUM and AF 2X see if that helps

EDIT: Lowering shadows to MEDIUM and AF 2X I get no stuttering although it doesn't look as good. The Shadow setting really does affect how the game looks in a major way. I guess it's a case of wait for the final release and updated drivers and take it from there

Don't waste your time messing around with this beta. Even single card set ups are getting odd things from time to time. I'm sure the final game will be better.

The V2 11.10 driver doesn't include any new performance gains for BF3 or Rage - it's now unified and resolves some Rage issues plus Xp/Vista

Lol, it completely fixes my problem the new v2 driver, I had the whiff of one flicker on metro then it went away, I did get a bsod when i mimised during a game launch but im playing caspian with no graphical errors on ultra at 100fps now.
 
Just had a full round of Caspian with shadows on Medium and averaging 70fps :) I'm kinda happy but having played the game with textures at Ultra and AA 16X I really want to play it at those settings.... the game itself is brilliant!
 
I've tried the unified BF3/RAGE driver and I'm getting 2.8GB vram usage! Lots of slowdown when I zoom through optics. :/
 
2500k @ 4.5ghz with 480 gtx sli and 8gb of ram and I average 60 fps at 1920x1200. Some optimisation to be done me thinks. I'm not using vsync and have maxed out the settings.
 
im thinking of selling my 570GTX 1.2GB And getting 2x 570GTX 2.5GB what do you think of this idea?

or buy 1 570tx and be vram bottlenecked right away...

I've been reading quickly trough this thread...you all have high end setups..
But what's the lowest I can get away with?

I guess I really MUST upgrade for BF3...

I have a GTX 260...that's not going to allow me to play the game decently..:(

What would you guys recommend for a cheap card that would do the job?

I was thinking a 6950 unlocked to 6970...is there one you would recommend for overclocking?
I think sapphire have the highest rate of overclocking...am I right?

Nvidia bight not be able to compete in terms of price with a 6950 I think...
