bf3, driver stopped responding

right fixed my earlier problem(screen flash) but i'm still getting lock ups when trying to start a game in bf3, and when i do get in game my gpu utilization is all over the place, normally at 99% all the time.

using 12.11 beta 8's with 12.11 cap2

just removed caps, and problem still there, core is running flat out but usage all over the place, v sync is off.

Any other games causing issues. Bf3 has been extremely buggy lately.

i play bf3 90% of the time will try Far cry 3, have recently dropped settings in bf3 to maintain frames above 120 fps, just tried everything back at ultra, its better but still not maxing usage and theres a weird spike????

OP you've got a lot of stuff running in the taskbar.

BF3 is a strange beast...i only get 60-75% gpu usage with my 2 7970's.

its pinned to taskbar, not running

just tried FC3 and that appears to be better

is there anything i can do in a config file for bf3, i want them frames above 120??

I don't think so mate. I've been trying for weeks for a solution. Seems like BF3 is not using hardware to the max.

I have quite low CPU usage too.

Until recently, i had been playing bf3 on ultra with x2 msaa, gtx 670 at 1310, 7586. Was getting nothing but freezes, disconnects, fps were up and down a bit. All of this has started post aftermath. Dropped settings to lowest, still getting the same. Theres multiple threads on battlelog describing the same, the game is a mess at present tbh.

this must be a recent thing then, used to get 99% usage all the time, got myself 120hz monitor couple of months ago (and only just changed the setting in bf3 to 120hz!!!

so bf3 used to use hardware to the max and now it isn't???? typical!!

The only setting that affects my FPS is the MESH detail.

I run it on medium, as far as i can tell this affects the draw distance of objects and not players/vehicles.

A lot of people believe that you can't see players a long way away with mesh on anything other than ultra but that is false.

I've done a lot of testing to prove it.

there was that big update before aftermath, been since then??? (did not have usage showing then) and DL'd aftermath yesterday

When playing it the last couple of weeks, it has been lagging like crazy, players and vehicles warping about. This is when i get the fps drops. Pre aftermath, it was still a bit buggy. But no where near as bad as it has been recently. I popped onto bfbc2 and mohwf, both of which ran flawlessly.

BFBC2 run like a dream with my set up. High GPU and CPU usage.

BF3 is bugged to hell. They have made too many changes to the game due to whiners.

Don't get me wrong both my cards run great, but I am a bit miffed that they are not being utilized to their full potential.

just gone back too 12.11 11's and usage is better but i left these due to crashes in game but was having problems with after burner which could have caused that so gonna crank it up and see what happens, wish me luck!!!

quick run usage better but still not right and still dont get the big drop/spike, that is in game!

Usage is up there though, much better than mine.

I seem to get low gpu usage when looking over a large map.
