Is that for MSI afterburner? I don't use it so can't say.
If its for PB, I've no idea
No I thought I read it as in game settings
Oh.. um, try pressing tab. I don't know of another shortcuts. Not played yet.
What's your soundcard?
Is it a realtech HD? There were issue with those in BFBC2. So try disabling sound (or the soundcard) to see if it helps at all. I know it did with BFBC2. And its probably one of the few differences between single player and multiplayer. (Voip etc)

Just to let you know, I get the same 
Single player runs perfectly, however multi will randomly freeze and crash (BF3 not responding error). Can be after 5mins or 30mins, so frustrating mid game rapage!!
I'm in the States, so servers should all be good by now?

No soundcard thinking of going back to the drivers that were on the CD when it was installed, they were 8.892.0.0 though I don't know how that will improve things.
Yes, at the moment I cant seem to log into MP get into stats screen then the black loading screen and thats where it stops, it doesn't lock it just stays there trying to load.I seem to be going backwards. Thanks for your help

Try the beta drivers from ati's website too. Not sure if their BF3 drivers are out yet: p

Just played a game then five minutes into game it locks again,cant press ESC or anything the only way to get out is button on tower.?
Someone on another forum suggested this, would it help or not (just clutching at straws)Go to msconfig on your computer and select "selective startup". Then make sure "Load startup items" is unchecked and restart your computer. This is what I did and it fixed the problem for me. The game runs pretty well on ultra settings.

I'm running on an ATI 5650 Laptop GFX and works a lot better than the 11.9 driver. Makes sure all other drivers are up to date too inc mobo drivers.

Try pressing ctrl+shift+esc or alt+tab or windows key and see if you can end the task. If windows is still running without any problems then i doubt it is a hardware problem.
I would reset all the options to default within the game, not the controls, and see if that fixes it.

If none of the previous fixing have worked for you then i suggest you try a server without punkbuster on it.
A friend of mine is having the very same issue and he can play all day long on servers without punkbuster on it. Tis annoying!

Thanks for all the help I'm getting its much appreciated this is the story so far
I have uninstalled origin and BF3 and am downloading them now.
Have tried the 11.9 drivers no luck, at the moment on 11.8 tried it this morning thought I had beaten it still playing at 10 min instead of the normal 5 min but then it crashed, no sound only way to come back to window was pressing the tower button.
Have updated PB will try game without PB when the game finishes downloading.
Will look at the fix from walk on
Single player plays awesome so from a layman's point of view (which I am) the 6950 is playing well which lead me to think its not the graphics card itself.
I will let you know how I get on when the game is installed. once again thanks for all the help.

We'll I have reinstalled origin and BF3 no better still crashes in 5-10 min, the only drivers I haven't tried yet is the preview drivers.starting to think this is one game that I wont be playing, cant understand how the SP plays so well but the MP crashes.?
Tried a server with no PB?
Just tried it lasted for a record 11 mins.
