BF3 - no campaign????

The first couple of times i loaded up BF3 it would not let me load a campaign. It would go to the menu and as soon as i clicked start, the speakers would pulse and the screen would stay black. The mouse would still move fine though. Could not do anything than close it from Cntrl Alt Del. Multiplayer quick matches work as they should all the time.

Then after a few attempts it loaded up fine and i played the first couple levels problem free on medium graphics ( radeon 4870 :( ). It let me play twice. It now will not let me resume. Same problem as before.

Any ideas would be great as its really hard playing online when you know nothing.
 
To be honest the SP isn't a great primer for the MP. I wouldn't bother with it if I were you, it isn't great on it's own either.
 
Just want to use it to build up some accuracy. Have never really been into FPS and desperately want to improve. I know i need to practice, but at the moment its embarrassing. haha.

Any ideas what would be stopping me play? Should i try re-installing BF3 or graphics card drivers? :confused:

No luck with firewall. On the upside i figured out how to select ranked games, which evens up my odds ever so slightly. :)
 
Theres me thinking i was still crap, but misunderstood the ranked games. Slowly getting better from just sniping and learning the maps. haha.

Why does the screen sometimes go black and not load the next level when in multiplayer too? :mad:

Also if i reinstall are my achievements etc stored online?
 
All are stored on battlelog so you can reinstall at your leisure.

Install the latest drivers and also, on origin do a right click + repair install on your BF3 game. See if that helps.

No of course it's nothing like the MP, but if you like SP (most people here don't) I thought it was pretty good, sound is excellent, there's a bit of variety drama etc. it's well voice acted and it looks very good.
 
not yet. where would be best place to get them? amd site? radeon hd 4870. Surely if its only doing it at the end of a game/starting a new game its not that? It doesnt stop halfway through and runs very smoothly.
 
Can happen at any time with bad drivers mate, its not specifically a stamina thing. Certain things could be setting it off.. maybe things it only loads/unloads at the start and beginning of games.

It'd be interesting to see what version you're running, if you dont know where to get them I'd hazard they havnt been updated in a fair while ;)

Thats what you need, I was gunna link the drivers you needed but I dont know what OS you're using so I'll let you do that bit!
 
Windows 7 64 Bit. Already on driver 11.11 as i needed to update before playing game at all. Re-installed drivers. Still will not let me load campaign mode, even with settings on low.
 
Sounds like you've got something else running stopping it, disable your anti virus + anything else you wouldnt have that you dont need running. Check the task manager for processes you don't recognise and kill them
 
This is fate's way of telling you not to bother with single-player for a BF game :D

EDIT: Seriously though, make sure you don't have any duplicate processes running. If my MP does not load on the first attempt (an issue which has thankfully stopped happening), I need to ensure that the process has been closed correctly before re-trying it.

This might sound crazy, but try a different browser. For some reason my BF3 will not launch via Firefox, but works fine using Chrome.
