Hello,

Im looking for a computer which will be able to play bf3 Maxed out.

What would you spec for the hardware, which is capable of playing BF3 max

The "Guessed" recommended are;

Recommended System Requirements
Processor: Quadcore Processor
Memory: 4 GB
Hard Drive: 15 GB for Digital Version, 10 GB for Disc Version
Video Memory: 512 MB
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 11
Keyboard and Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

but that would be for Medium?

Cheers,
Pauliee

Give me a rough price? or do just want to see some spec that can do it for a reasonable cost?

And bits you need? tower? os? monitor etc?

If its a rough guess you want for a base unit that will do medium-medium high?

Add a SSD to be the cherry on the cake.

Want to spend more?

The early gameplay demos were played on a single 580 if I remember correctly, and they would have done little optimisation at that point.

I think so, when i was reading blogs about it, i think it was a single 580, but i know that the Gamescom rigs were packing SLi 580's for the "ultimate" performance machine to play it on.

As for Alpha, that was released on DX9, so i think possibly everything will change come release?

They would use the best hardware so it ran as smooth as! Not because they needed that amount of power, it was done so that when the presented the video it didnt lag and everyone though WTF!? ZOMG

I reckon the 560 will be fine to run it at max settings aslong as you have the CPU to go with it (2500k) i dont think they would have made one of there biggest online playable games ever to only have such a small amount of people play it on the highest settings, think of the moaning and disappointment that would give most of there fans.

Its all guessing, plus I very much doubt the difference between Ultimate (max settings) and whatever a 560ti can manage would be worth the huge difference in price!

Wait about a month and the beta will be out and we will be able to give you a much clearer idea!

Hopefully the BETA is DX11 and not DX9 then :) otherwise it would be a waste of time, right?

Besides. They have thrown out a lot of older players, they have said the final version will only be playable on Vista/Win7, so people running XP will have to upgrade. Also it will only run on Cards supports DX10 and above.

So many current gamers or LAN players with DX9 cards and XP systems will have to upgrade to play BF3.

Well if their running xp with DX9 cards dont you think it would be time to upgrade anyway?
You couldn't expect to run BF3 on a DX9 card anyway.

didn't they say something like "If you can play crysis 2 maxed out, then you wont have trouble with battlefield 3" ?? a 560 should be able to max it out.

Im hoping my 590 will completely max BF3 out, am I right does anyone know?

Probably, its just 2x 580? So it shouldn't have a problem.

I guess for better knowledge, wait for the retail release :)

Everything else is guessed or going on what others have said from alpha testing.

But Dice/EA have only said minimum/recommended specs, so anything about the recommended will have no problem playing it at a high level surely.
