probably already been done, but how are the two comparing?
Ive always been a MW fan and never really go into BF, tried playing bad company 2 on the ps3 and didnt get on with it.
The last few releases of mw have been really disapointing though, it just the same stuff every time, with a little bit less soul than the last. the new one sounds like it gonna be the same:(
where as bf3 sounds like its gonna be a whole new game
what one are you going for, i'm really finging of diching mw completly this time as i just dont want the same stuff as always.
is there anything ive missed that makes mw worth a look or should it just be writen off
 
I dont see how MW can imporve/cahnge..its the same forumla just new maps/guns/perks...But all in all its a simplistic shooter in small maps. THere isnt really much that can be done to it IMO. MW1 was by far the best one.

On the other hand BF3 can improve so much becaue it ahs been years since the previous release BF2 which had no desturbile environment. Off course BFBC2 surley will be a condesnsed smaple of what BF3 shoudl be. I imagine it will be simailr but with bigger maps obivosuly and more air vehciles etc...Also the different clases have much effect on the gameplay whereas there is no class in COD really. Maybe cod could intorduce medics and such as was in killzone 3? to improve it?

ANyway I think COD will be more fun for the single player though not worth the RRP for that alone.

Modern Warfare 3 is hardly any different from the past two MW games, same crap and the graphics have hardly improved at all. It's all * No swearing * marketing from Infinity Ward.

BF3 on the other hand, well it has some vast improvements over its predecessor. Destructible objects/ terrain, vastly improved graphics, bar beyond anything MW3 can compare to! I mean, you can shoot bits off walls and leave bullet holes in the sand...

I've watched several videos on both, and well COD is just the same old stuff with new guns and new maps.

so so true. battlefield 3 will not be as a bigger hit as mw3 because the population of mw3 is between 8-15 year olds, quite ironic how they cant buy the game because its rated 18. but battlefield 3 looks so much more adrenaline filled and realistic thats why i will be buying it.
 
i must say this is the first game ive got really excited about since mw2 was about to be releast. i just hope this doesn't turn out to be a load of hype like that!
be good to be on a pc rather that console too.

to all intents and purposes MW3 will just be DLC for MW2 / MW1.

Same engine, same core storyline. Nothing much has changed apart from the maps, levels and guns.

Obviously there's been some perk and balance tweaking along the way, but nothing major.

Those that will be interested in buying some more DLC for modern warfare packed up as a £40 game, will already know it.

There are just as many kids running around playing games like counter strike on the PC as their are kids on consoles, and vice versa.


Consoles are majority played by casual gamers, be that ones in their 30s or ones in their teens. Just look at how many adults there are playing COD in our console forums ! we like all the benefits that come with playing games on a console, and are willing to accept the downside - namely no K/B mouse and no high resolution gaming.

But when you're sat on a sofa 8 feet away from your 40inch TV, you probably wouldn't appreciate it if you had the high resolution gaming.

Completely different styles of gameplay tbh. The biggest difference is round here that anything COD related is the spawn of Satan, whilst anything BF3 related creates an impromptu circle jerk. ;)

That said... I'd be willing to pay money on release for BF3, couldn't say the same about MW3. :p
 
We all know where this thread is going!

There really wasn't any need for the kids comment in all honesty. No need to stir the hornets nest. I play consoles as well as my pc and I'm definitely not a kid, although sometimes I wish I was!
 
Get BF3 and then if it has been squeezed by EA then get Red Orchestra 2 which we can guarantee to be the best Military FPS this year (best FPS will be Serious Sam 3).

I'm a 35yr old KID. Even though I've been gaming since the 486 days.

MW = typical run and gun DM game that requires little thought, yet the core formula has existed for years. BF3 = heavily team work orientated and requires a beefy machine to boot. The former is console based so it'll sell by the bucketload, the latter much less as it requires a PC. Simples.

I gave up on the CoD series when the exploits in CoD3 began surfacing. I never tried MW online but have seen my mate's 'quickscoping k3wlio 14yr old play it'. It's no different to how Quake2/3 was back in the day.

Every year I say I won't buy the next COD... and every year I always cave and buy it and get bored after a month.

Luckily BF3 is out 2 weeks before MW3 so this should save me this time!
 
Wait until they are both out, until then it's based on short video clips that don't really give a definitive answer.

I play on both PC / consoles and enjoy both COD and BF. I'll probably be buying both :)

But there are plenty of mature players on both, and the fair share of stupid kids on both. I just tend to find some PC players like to pretend that adults don't play consoles to fool themselves into a false sense of elitism ;)

IMO it's that adults don't play consoles it's that there's likely MORE kids on consoles than PC because they are cheaper to buy and play than keeping up to date on PC hardware. It's not a bad thing, we were all kids once and loved our consoles, I just wouldn't have given myself a microphone and Live :p.
