Sorry if this has been brought up and solved already but the other BF4 post is over 100 pages now! I have tried it a couple of times but I seem to be getting a bit of lag with my 780 sli/i7 4770k @4.6ghz and windows 7 build. At the moment windows 8,although a supposed fix, is not an option for me so Im keen to get it playable on windows 7. Anyone had this problem and fixed it? Im using the latest 331.40 beta drivers which have been perfect for me with every other game I have tried. I know its a beta but the stuttering is driving me nuts.

Mines been mostly fixed with the latest patches, I'm on the 320.49 drivers though as i found them smoothest before all the patches.

I also limit my FPS to 65 (50 pre-patches) to lower the load on my CPU

to limit your FPS use the command

Gametime.maxvariablefps 65

BF3 was a bit like that for me with SLI Titans Greggg. Are you playing in full screen mode? The setting is for windowed mode by default and this will not fully use both cards. Also, have you tried it with just one card enabled to see if it is smoother?

Looking around this and other forums, lots of early issues and I would put it down to being a beta. Small consolation but other regardless of brand are getting the same.

Another thing is Windows 8. People are reporting that installing Windows 8 sorted it for them. A bit of a drastic step but knowing M$, it wouldn't surprise me if they hobbled its performance on anything other than W8 but that could be me just being an idiot and plucking a thought out of thin air :D

I find SLI stutters
A single card works flawlessly.

I haven't tried windows 8 or 320.49 drivers yet.
People have said both of those offer smoother gameplay.

Tried one card mate and its better but still there. I think your right about windows 8 mind but seeing as 780s dont do dx11.1 it shouldnt matter anyways should it. I think its the 15th 8.1 is released so I will have to see if I can pick up a cheapish copy. Should be able to raise half by selling my windows 7 but Im not best pleased about the operating system being a factor in performance and to be honest, should steam pull off their OS idea then its only going to push me away from windows altogether

When it comes to OS's, I hate change but having played with a couple of laptops with W8 on, I think I will be going that way soon as well. Don't be fooled about 780's not doing DX11.1, they will be able to do this with no problem.

As I type this though, I can't help but think that SteamOS maybe worth a look. It is free and should be quite a good addition for purely gaming in a dual OS scenario. Time will tell anyways. December I believe it will make its debut but not 100% on that.

Ive have windows 8 on my surface pro and have nothing against it but other than basically a new skin and a few optimisations, I begrudge upgrading for gaming reasons given that very few (if any) games will need it.

Since I added my second GTX780 in SLI I've been getting a really smooth experience, and that's on W7!

The plot thickens :p

Alright peeps I have sorted it using a mixture of 3 things-

1. Set FPS limit to 59 in Afterburner (rivatuner)

2. Enabled Vsync smooth in the Nvidia control panel.

3. Disabled core parking using a little program called park control

I have tried one without the others and its core parking that seems to be giving me the main source of stutter however all 3 have it running silky smooth. Hope that helps someone
