BF4 red screen

I seen this once when trying to use Mantle with the Crossfire 280Xs, DX was fine.

I resorted to doing a fresh reinstall.

You're using 14.1 drivers. Honestly, they're better drivers to use instead of those, which are a few months old now. Uninstall those drivers and then download and install 14.4 Beta drivers. Set powertune at +50% and then do some proper testing with your gpu's at stock clocks to rule out issues.

Regarding Valley reporting wrong speeds, thats normal so ignore.

as you can see its reporting 14.4 yet valley says otherwise do you think i possibly may have driver conflicts???

is this the part on afterburner that says power limit (%) if so i can only go as high as 20

its the 14.4 drivers i have installed as i noticed another thread this morning with a link to them pretty sure it was for a 290

Furry muff. Upon checking my version it shows the same as yours. Just Unigine making it look like 14.1 it seems.

Well run a test and see if you get another red screen. :)

Do use MSI Afterburner? If you do you can disable ULPS if you wish (its not essential) this can sometimes gain you a little (a couple of %) extra performance. THe only downside is the second gpu does not completely turn off at idle, so it will sit in 2d clock mode when not in use. Copy these afterburner settings if you want to try it. Especially the Disable ULPS option and Enable Unified Gpu Usage Monitoring.

Make sure you're using the latest version of MSI Afterburner, which is Beta 19 as well.

kewl thnx for that my settings are almost identical to yours so changed ones that were slightly dif

i shall give bf4 another blast see if i run into anymore red screens, heres hoping this has worked

Disable ULPS. I had my settings wrong Lol. I will update the pic now. I've been keeping ULPS on for a while now as i like the idea of the second gpu drawing 0 watts.

EDIT

This is how it should look if you want ULPS off.

still not cured the red screen about 15 mins in same problem again the game freezes with annoying buzz then red screen. should i increase the vcore more or would it be connected to the uncore??

Hmm im not familiar with what uncore is to be honest as im still on sandy bridge. Can you run your cpu at stock along with the memory etc and see if it still happens then. My Haswell knowledge is limited as ive never used it.

I'm confused by your afterburner screenshot. It says R9 290 but it looks like you have a Tahiti card judging by the +20% in afterburner and the voltage control now showing as offset like mine does.
