BF4 - replace 8800 GTX with...

Forgot to respond.... I got a HD7950 CDII 3GB to replace the old 8800 GTX. Enabled Mantle... and went from Low in all Settings to High in all settings on BF4. Pulls a respectable 60fps+

Q6600 lives on... and with winter coming... it still doubles as a handy room heater.

:) nice, sounds like it worked out well! The 7950 is the same as the 280 that a couple of people suggested :)

I'd either go...
Sapphire 270 ~£115 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-339-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1982 (better short term match)

OR

Sapphire R9 285 ~£170 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-358-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1983 (something you could carry forward to a new pc)

Was going to suggest R7 265, it beats a Nvidia 750Ti as far as I know and I got mine from here for £90... But they are ~£110 now (literally a few squids less than the 270)

Edit: Alternatively, the KFA2 760 is on offer at ~£150 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-066-KF&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1830

Maybe get a 2nd 8800?

BF4 doesn't like multi GPU that much - you get good fps scaling but its quite prone to microstutter and other issues and nothing remotely close to having the same framerate on a single card. (This is masked a bit if you use vsync at 60Hz).

I'm so happy the card still works so well. When my 5970 was on the blink I whacked it in and it gave me 40fps on Skyrim on mostly high settings. Fantastic card, extra fond of it because it was my first proper card.

Should be sorted with this months patch. Changes from CTE which runs incredibly well on multi gpu. Quite possibly the smoothest dice fps I've ever played.

lol, one of mine for a start (q6600 & 8800gtx inside a Dell xps420) - don't use it for games but for day to day stuff & as a media pc for playing movies, it's still fine :)
I put my 2 old 8800gtx's in my HTTP and the family PC I built ...Then I replaced them with my 2 old GTX 275's and now them 2 systems have my old GTX 580's in them..:):):)

Can't wait to upgrade my gaming system again so I can put my old 780ti in my HTTP...;)
