BFG 7800GS AGP Overclocking

Hi there
Just been looking at a few articles on overclocking the above card.
I downloaded coolbits and ran the auto o\c programme,it ran for a few seconds and then tested the settings and it came up with core clock 484/1.41 memory clock,i`ve tested the card on tomb raider legend with no next gen or aa and i am getting over 225 fps,compared to 95 before ,the temp has been 39 c.
Has the programme tested this card correctly,the card settings seem to have increased a lot

well its clearly overclocked it, but that doesn't seem right.
a 130fps increase from a 84mhz oc

Thinking about the tomb raider fps,i tested it last time at the start of the game near the waterfall,i`m now in a cave with not much going on,that could be something to do with it,just moved away from the enlclosed walls and it dropped down to 150fps which is still better than i was getting before.

You would ideally want to compare it between the same location before and after the o/c ... to make it a more fair comparison, rather than an open area and a tunnel which will obviously have drastically different characteristics

Yeah your right with that,if i go back to the waterfall i think i`ll lose my progress in the game so far.

I`ve just ran 3d mark 06 and my score without the overclocking was 2591 and with the o/c it`s 2937 which is a steady increase.
Again i`ve been checking the temp and it was on 40 c after running 3d mark 06

try 3d mark 05 and see what ya get, i did have mine at 511/1500, and got 7834marks, once ya have auto clocked it, ya can push the sliders a bit more and press test, keep going till it fails, my mate had it off me and volt modded the mem and core, and i think hes up to 585/1650!!!
