BFG 8800 GTX 768MB now only £384.99 @ OcUK!!

Ive just ordered mine :D ill just need to hack away some of my hard drive bay in my Thermaltake Tsunami case with hacksaw to make it fit lol.

New specs will be :-

Intel E6700
MSI Powerup Edition Mobo
2GB G.Skill Ram
700W FSP PSU
BFG Nvidia 8800GTX

Happy boy! :p

When the time comes that I think £450 for a G/card is good value - shoot me!!

I'm not knocking OcUK, but the price of these has gone too far - looks like my trusty X800 will have to last me a couple more years.

They are crap though, but there still ARE drivers, beta or not.

Not for the 8800 series there isn't as far as I'm aware, if you have a link to beta ones that would be great!

All 8800GTX cards are the same...

BFG = expensive name, that performs the same as all the others

actually. I think its worth paying the extra for the life time warranty that BFG offer

It would help if you specified which OS you're referring to, by the DX10 response I assume Vista. Looks like you're talking at cross purposes.

Well not really as DX10 is Vista only, so if I'm talking about DX10 then I must be talking about Vista ;)

But that assumes that everyone knows the facts and followed your responses clearly knowing DX10 is exclusively Vista.

Yeah shame you can't use it as there aren't any drivers, not even BETA ones

Just looks like this sentence was taken out of context. Unless of course there are beta drivers I don't know about, in which case, give em up. I want my Aero.

Yup. It's just another way to mis-lead the customer.

The old no vat trick is on page one of Marketing for Dummies. Textbook. Mind you, I fell for it when they were 500quid

HI there

Sorry but my opinion is an extra £20 for a decent brand is well worth paying. Its not just the lifetime warranty which helps but the fact if it does go wrong in that first year you know BFG are gonna sort it out quickly and not keep you waiting days/weeks.

They have an excellent reputation for their tech support/RMA turn around times. Its peace of mind and when your spending over £400 its pennies.

For me I would not touch any other brand over BFG or EVGA plainly because you know they will take care of there customers. Also BFG and EVGA also get the best stock from NVIDIA too when it comes to GPU yield rates etc. The exact reason why BFG are the first and only to offer a water-cooled product which is only exclusively available from OcUK. :)
agreed, plan on getting one but not yet.

Very interesting. Didn't know that. Linky?

What makes me laugh is anybody with anything < 8800 gets Vista drivers and that the card hyped to be built for Vista and DX10 compatible doesn't!

Honesty this does leave a slight bitter taste in my mouth, I still love my 8800 GTX for its single card performance but it really would have been nice to have at least a beta driver for Vista and the 8800 series when they released the card.

So Vista wise I'm actually worse off thean when I had my 7800 GTX, surely Nvidia must know that the same people that pay for a £500 GFX card are the ones that will want to get the grubby little hands on Vista

Naughty Nvidia <slaps Corporate wrists>
