Hi there

First of all we shall be recieving our allocation of G80 product over the next few days. We have UK, Europe, and US allocation coming our way. What that means is we have plenty of stock.

You will be able to check the new products out and buy them on November 8th. Until then I cannot confirm specification or pricing due to NDA but the rumoured specifications are not far out;) and UK pricing is damn expensive but they will sell simply because its so quick.

Here is some screenshots from upcoming DX10 games due for release when VISTA comes out next year. DX9 performance of G80 is also no let down it should destroy anything currently available on that too.

Those Screenshots are Amazing  :D

Any ideas on Pricing yet Gibbo ?

Hi there

GTS is around current GX2 pricing from OcUK.
GTX is more expensive then current GX2 pricing.

However there is still time for NVIDIA to change pricing prior to launch so things could get cheaper or more expensive. I doubt this will happen as we have been given our buy prices now.

Obviously with product been so tight then expect prices to be high anyway due to simple supply and demand. Anyone who looks surprisingly cheap will no doubt be because they have not been allocated any stock and if you have no stock anybody can advertise a price. OcUK always gets the lion share because we sell the most and we tend to follow the rules most of the time. ;)

The water looks pretty amazing. So to confirm, they are pretty quick for DX9 as well as having that elusive DX 'X' factor, if you pardon the pun!

Gibbo, how many units do you have? You didn't say that came under the NDA... ;)

(tips out jar of pennies, starts counting...)

Hi there

I cannot say, it just gives our competitors ammo to throw their toys out the pram as to why were getting so many more. Needless to say its well into three figures without any decimal points and all from BFG who we consider the best brand. Simply because they are so damn reliable and have an excellent customer support service and thats important when your spending so much money. :)

Damn you Gibbo

When can we expect pre-orders to start mate?

After reading the thread on the BenQ 24" monitor it looks like I need an nvidia card to run 1:1 pixel mapping in older games so I may as well get this one instead of the X1900XT crossfire setup I had planned and payed for and as I'm waiting for the monitor an extra 2 days shouldn't hurt (might give the kandalf lcs a chance to come back in as well)

Hi there

No pre-orders! Its a hard launch with product in stock on November 8th. :)

What is going to happen to the price of the GX2? :D

Sold any recently, that aren't part of the EVGA step up program? :p

Hi there

No GX2 price drops as there is none left to drop price on. NVIDIA have no stock left and nearly all partners sold out. Hence why we only have EVGA left on our site, all others sold out and no longer in production.

Performance:

From a guy at XS.

Significantly better than twice the performance of my 7800GTX with a similar CPU (e6600 @ 2.6Ghz) in each of the game tests.

Hi there

Not impressed to be honest with that score.

I built one of the OcUK Ultima Extremes a couple of days ago. Core 2 DUO X6800, Corsair 8500 Dominator, 2 x X1950 XTX In Crossfire, 6.10 BETA Drivers all in the Intel 975X Bad Axe motherboard.

At stock clock speeds it scored 11,400 (2.93GHz) and with the CPU at 3.4GHz it scored 11,920. If I'd had pushed the CPU upto 3.7GHz and overclocked the graphics card we'd a seen 12k+. Also for reference we ran 3D Mark 2005 which scored just over 20,000.

To be honest I was expecting the 8800 GTX to be hitting at least 14,000 in 3D Mark 2006, but that is just a benchmark and games may tell a completely different story with much better gains to be had. :)
However it is good to see a single card matching ATI X1950's in Crossfire at DX9 benchmarks. That for sure says that DX10 is gonna be even better. :)

Christmas is the time of giving, give money to overclockers for a new graphics card.

Now let me see if the kids have less, the mother in law gets nowt, the wife does a few extra hours.... yep gtx for me.

Presumably you can sli the 8800 so we should be looking at 15000 at least to compare to your mamby pamby crossfire setup. Bye bye ati for me welcome back nvidia, why did i ever leave you please forgive me.

Hi there

Yes 8800 GTX will be SLi compatible and therefor close to 16,000-18,000 in 3D Mark 06 I'd imagine. :)

Any ASUS 680i boards on launch day, seem strange to hard launch a motherboard. Usually the manufacturer paper launches then a month or so later stock appears.

Hi there

I believe things are changing. As only EVGA are launching the NF 680 board in the UK and BFG in the US.

Think NVIDIA are now giving more support to manufacturers who give customers better support. Asus are very big but their support is criminal its so bad. EVGA and BFG are in a different leage and their boards should also be very nice afterall they are not mass production but just building exclusive high-end OC friendly boards. :) However they aint cheap either, NVIDIA like charging big $$$$$$$

Well Gibbos already said the GTX is going to be £150 more than the 7950 GX2, thats £387, so your talking £540. :D

Hi there

Thats you assuming I was referring to the more expensive GX2 though. We do have cheaper GX2's as well. 8800 GTX will be close to £500 with VAT but not over it. :)

Possibly, but not after 3 weeks after launch ;)

Ocuk Staff need money for hot dates :D

HI there

Or Superchargers! :p

Our pricing will be fair on a serious note or at least similar to other Etailors who ACTUALLY have product in stock. Obviously from a business point of view were not gonna give cards away when supply is so limited and we already have the demand there to sell the stock were getting.

We have BFG GTX and GTS product due to arrive with us this Friday/Monday so when 8th comes along we shall have product available off the shelf. GTX pricing will be in the £460-£500 region including VAT at 17.5% which makes our pricing not that much higher compared to US prices which are approx $800 + Taxes.

Can you tell us what the cooling options for the BFG cards are like because I have seen some with the "hybrid" air+water cooling blocks built in. Got any pics of the BFG GTX ?

Hi there

They are all air-cooled, no hybrid cooler.....

I have lots of high-res pics but I would be shot if I posted them. Our product is all setup and ready to go live on the 8th. :)

Gibbo, whats your comment on this EVGA step up fiasco?

If EVGA arn't allowing step up for any product in their range then its false advertising on either your or their part.

(IANAL)

But still, its a absolutle rip off if the GX2 guys can't get G80.

Shown UK EVGA Guy this thread, he is disgraced and suppposedly will sort it. Thats his words whether or not he has any sucess another thing.

Hi there

Fantastic news, BFG has shipped us another shipment on top of the shipment already en-route. What this means is that we have a very large amount of BFG 8800 GTX available for launch day. In fact the amount is so large I can guarantee you all that we will not run out of stock and as such maybe able to lower our price. With BFG being number one in the USA and also having a good relationship with NVIDIA in Europe too means BFG get fantastic allocation. As were BFG's number 1 customer over here and their favourite were getting huge amounts of GTX product along with GTS too for launch day.

I can assure you that OcUK will not run out of 8800 GTX and thats even if everybody in this thread buys one, plenty to go round for everybody. :D

Woo Hoo!

What if everyone on this thread buys two though Gibbo? ;)

Good news, keep us posted on any price drops...

HI there

Not a problem at all. You can all buy two and you can either buy online or come to our shop on the 8th. There will still be plenty left. :)

If the price is sub £500 you have my business Mr Gibbo!

Gibbo could you confirm what PSU you need for SLI? I have a 620w Liberty.

However i do want an Asus 680 Motherboard at the same time :p

Hi there

I will do my best and your PSU needs to be one with 4x PCI-E connectors so ideally one of the new Enermax 850W or 1000W that are properly designed for these type of cards. :)

jimmyjimmyo said:
Done that m8. The shop only have the details that are on the website.

Gibbo is the buyer so he would know for certain if the monitor is shipping in the same way that he knows how many 8800gtx cards are shipping.

Most of the people who use this forum provide more customer service/technical help than the shop guys ;)

Hi there

The BenQ monitors are estimated at the 6th for arriving but they will no doubt be late. I predict the BenQ's are gonna arrive in the next 7-14 days as they have actually made them now. :)
