Hey guys,

Quick question. My 2nd card is being used for folding@home, and temps are around 70-71 degrees celsuis. Is this an ok temperature for this card?

They do seem to run pretty hot.

Mine occasionally hits 70°C when I play 3D intensive games like WoW and Dead Space (though admittedly, it's the model with the stupid cooler that looks like it was designed by an Arts graduate).

Yeah, The heatsink on the hot one tries to push air towards the front of the case, but the front case fans stop the hot air from escaping the card, so the hot air stays in the plastic cover. I was just wondering if the temps were normal.

Here's a picture of my card:

As you can see, the fan blows all the hot air through the body of the card and out of the open end... into my case!

I don't know what kind of numpty designed it, but he deserves to be beaten with a stick. Frequently.

Yeah, that's exactly the one that I've got. I've got a slightly older one above it, and that has the fan on the front end, blowing air out of the back end. That never exceeds 58.

Anyone know if any one of the graphics coolers on the OCUK site would fit my 9800GTX+ with SLI?

Thing is, I need the airflow to be dumped out of the case, and not inside like it is now.

EDIT - I was looking at this:

Any thoughts?

seems a bit high, mines idles about 40-43oc and running crysys hits a max of 65oc @ load is that the older model of the cooler.? cause mines blows the air across the card and out of the vented slot at the back of my case.

Yeah, one of them blows air out the back and that's ok temps wise, doesn't break 60 when gaming.

This one however tries to blow air into the case (the carpy designed one), and temps are 70/71.

Would the AKASA AK-VC03-BLUV cooler fit it you guys think?
