Bicycle Insurance

Thanks for this thread, since my latest purchase my household bike cover has been far exceeded and the cost of moving insurance is twice the cost of adding in specific cycle insurance. Plus if I do claim it won't impact household premiums.

Been wondering the best way of sorting it but happy now, cheers all.

Just in the last week I've had a chap on a new felt b16 on finance come off on a roundabout due to a big pothole. Wiped out a carbon planet x front wheel and the frame is away to be repaired.

He's going through BC to claim the council.

Another guy and a friend m going along an A road with a cycle path to the side. The road was replaced with a dual carriageway so is quiet enough and you can pass easy. Guy was going mental as they weren't in the lane(which can be full of crap to be fair). Said chap kept swervingband trying to put them into the verge. He then brake checked them which made one of the guys hit the towbar mounted cycle carrier and come off. Fisticuffs etc etc and now the police and BC are involved to help with bike damage.

Worth it I guess?

Home insurance renewal time, so handy thread for the recommendations. I've also found Yellow Jersey that looks a decent package of cover.

Had to properly LOL at this quote on the Bikmoplus website:

"My greatest fear is that when I die my wife sells my bikes for what I told her they cost."

:D

The driver was a bikealist?

My bikes are all covered via house insurance (worth less than £3.5k each) - I have extra cover on top to cover them away from home / accidental damage / theft (if not left unlocked/unattended).

I'm with Aviva.
