Any bicycle time trialists among us?
Another personal best for me last night on a 10 mile course, 26 minutes 57 seconds which is quite an improvement on my first 10 of the season on the same course 28:58 on the 15th april this year.
Only change I have made recently is a set of clip on tri bars (Deda Clip Ones) otherwise I'm still riding on a normal road bike with non aero wheels, two bottle cages but I do remove my saddle pack!
There isn't many midweek events left in the season, only two 5 mile TTs, then 2 hill climbs, however looking to next years season what would I best be investing in (apart from further training), an aero helmet or aero disc wheels? At the moment I can't justify the expense of a full on time trial bike, I don't have the room for a 3rd bike anyway!
One thing I'll say TTing is certainly good for getting your fitness up, you certainly can't muck around as you pretty much have to give it your all from the start.
I'll be interested in hearing from other time trialists.
