Hey guys so I'm currently in the market for a new monitor,I've got my eyes set on The ROG SWIFT PG278Q monitor.

For those that don't know the Monitor is a 144HZ 1MS 2560x1440 with G-sync.

I want to game at around 100+ FPS in most games to get the most out of the 144hz that the monitor has,I'm willing to turn down settings on demanding games like Crysis 3 etc.

Question is do i need to game at 100+FPS seen as G-Sync doesn't show tearing so won't see huge dips?

I'm using the EVGA GTX 780 Classified,Problem is my motherboard is the Asus Rampage Gene IV socket 2011.

I used to have 2 GTX 670 in SLI and they got extremely hot. I didn't like to see such high temps and my PC being so loud all the time.

So i made the switch to a Single 780 Classified now i sit at 26 idle and about 60 max and it's super quiet and cold.

Should i grab another board to prevent heat issues like last time as the classified are even bigger cards and will be very close to one another.

Been looking at this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-587-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2174 (My case is the Corsair Air 540 btw)

April is going to be a expensive month for sure :D

I really appreciate all help in advance.

Well, have you consudered watercooling those cards?
Shouldn't be a problem with this case. Then you can get another classy for sli.

Hey Jamie,

I agree with Bart. Time to grab another 780 Classy and get those cards under water. It is quite daunting but if I can do a water cooled build, you can :)

WC seems quite scary :P Could you link me what i would need for the 2 cards minus the CPU as that's liquid cooled by a H100i.

I agree, it is scary but surprisingly simple. It isn't cheap but once you have the parts, you just need water blocks for the GPU each time you upgrade.

I bought that kit with another 240 rad

I bought a few of those 1/4 fittings.

and a few of these to make the loop easy and no kinks.

And I put it all in this case.

My best advice is to ask in the Water cooling section though, as those guys are very good and know their stuff. I am a noob in the WC department still but taking your time and double checking everything before adding water - putting the case side on is fairly standard stuff.

Only if you are going to use all the extras, there are cheaper boards that will get the job done if extreme overclocking is not your thing.

On the other hand epeen is strong with this board.

Fair points. As I have only used the RIVF and got the 3930K straight up to 5Ghz with ease, I didn't know if the RIVE black was worth it.

Having compared it to an ordinary RIVE the BE will not give any higher clocks using air or water, my 3970X performed exactly the same in both boards.

For me though the slot placing is a must to get the cards in, even then it is a squeeze to access the pins on the bottom edge of the board (on/off, reset etc) with AMD cards fitted.
