guys,is there a big difference in performance between i7 4770k 4.3ghz and 4.8ghz on heavy cpu performance(as in 3d rendering)or not??

it will cost me the price of a h100i(£100) to get upto 4.8ghz,is the performance increase worth that kind of money for the speed increase,or will it only save me a few seconds on renders??

Why the obsession with the H110i? I posted a pair of much cheaper alternatives in your other thread. You were also complaining about your temps at 4.3Ghz which is down to Haswell's hot running and your Seidon 120 isn't a particularly good cooler.

I bought the h100i gtx, used it for like a day, then got a nh d15, the nh d15 was miles quieter and cooler. I cant actually believe how well it cools. If you look at performance charts the h100i gtx is near the top but this doesn't reflect real use as this is with the pump on full and the fans on full which is painfully loud. If you run the h100i gtx quietly (pump and fans on low) its still louder than a nh d15 with the fans on low an doesnt cool anywhere near as well.
If u ran both at bearable noise levels the nh d15 vastly outperforms the h100i, but you dont realise this from performance charts on reviews

Using Gigabytes auto overclock he can hit 4.8Ghz though. The problem is that his crappy Seidon 120 can't handle it and the temps Skyrocket. See his original post here where I recommended the OCUK techlabs kit's that are on this week only.

Yeah but this is haswell. Getting a different cooler may not actually help if the problem isnt the current cooler but the contact between chip and ihs. He could spend hundreds on a custom wc kit and never get that heat down

good to know, will go for nh-d15

Aios arent worth the money, also there is no guarantee your CPU will be able to 4.8ghz.

There is still no guarantee of him being able to run 4.8Ghz stable as when he did his tests before he could only run them for a few minutes before stupid temps stopped the testing.
