I got a 10c difference between my cores on my e8400 when at idle but underload there the same,
is this a sign of a problem?
My cooler is a 9700nt from zalman and is well seated with thermal paste applied correctly.
I'm a little worried ! Here is some screen grabs -

My 8600 has got a simular problem, at stock I will see no increase in temos idle or load, I am running at 4.4ghz with 1.3v and I get approx 10c on each core.

I have sent a email to Intel stating the problem all they kept saying it's down to the software or BIOS and that the cpu will protect it's self if something does go wrong.

I have a q9550 vcore 0 @ 36, 1 @ 27, 2 @ 38, 3 @ 38 on minor tasks
Whats the chances of an RMA. is it a sensor problem and can hope to oc this chip?

If it's the bios how come my cooler core keeps being given most of the load on minor tasks,
Sometimes 10% load while the warmer cores have nothing, surely the bios is faviouring the "cooler" core not causing the others to run hot
does the bios pick faviourites, or is one core sentient and likes to be cool. lol

I think it's windows which automaticaly chooses which core to use, you can set a particular core to run a programme using task manager.

Wow just noticed your temps and they are much lower than mine..plus you are using more volts and a slightly higher fsb speed
I have a e8500 @ 4.2ghz 1.264v core voltage ...arctic freezer pro cooler and i'm seeing temps as high as 61c when running prime95..i've refitted the heatsink several times and still stays the same :( it can't be the case not getting enough air as it's a antec skeleton.
Could i have a thermal sensor problem?

Merry xmas btw
