This is kind of the same as another thread but not entirely.

Bascially next week I'll have two new SATA drives. My current setup is:

C: IDE Drive 1
D: IDE Drive 2
E: DVD Drive 1
F: DVD Drive 2

so next week I'll have four hard drives.

However, what I want to do it make one of the SATA Drives the main windows drive and make the rest slaves so the setup will look something like this:

C: SATA Drive 1
D: SATA Drive 2
E: DVD Drive 1
F: DVD Drive 2
G: IDE 1
H: IDE 2

How can I 'swap' the drives over to make the SATA the main drive? I presume I can then just transfer the data between the drives.

The HD manufacturer should have a tool to swap your boot drive onto a new one. I did this last night with the WD Data Lifeguard tool for DOS. Booted from a floppy with the Data Lifeguard tool on it, then I copied my boot partition onto a raid 0 partition. It took a while, but worked a treat :D
