Big monitor, Internet, win?

It's not always as simple as that unfortunately, there are some real horror stories out there with genuine people who don't own a TV recieving these threatening letters etc...

We've been getting a few in the mail saying we don't have a TV licence when quite simply we do, and have proven multiple times that we pay... meh....

Not horror stories though. the letters are threatening. That's it, nothing comes of them. You wont get fined. All you have to do is ignore them or better just write to them.

I wonder what the definition of a live feed is?

If there was something like a 10-15 minute delay on the feed; would you still require a TV licence?

If a service online streamed a TV show but 15 minutes behind realtime... would you need a licence to receive the show?

Bit of an odd train of thought I know. :p

You would be fine, the chances are it would be in breech of copyright as legit owners would unlikely release online footage that soon.

Sure, nothing ever comes out of it... but the harassment hardly stops which is a little silly. Plenty of people out there who don't own a tele but getting harassed constantly for it; despite writing letters to them they continue to come.

There's a website run by some chap for the last few years where he's posted nearly every letter he's sent them and every letter he's received over the last 5+ years I believe. Can't seem to find it though.

Sure but websites like Zattoo do stream live feeds (legally as well) - so in theory you'd need a licence to watch Zattoo? But if Zattoo we're to put a 5-10 minute delay in their feeds... surely their users would no longer need a licence?

Of course people like the BBC would instantly pull out of Zattoo's website, so would the majority of other TV stations I guess... but it's just a thought.
